They do the basics very well at a high tempo, Bielsa has always done it, they focus on winning the ball back in places where it's easier to hurt the opposition and they do simple stuff like stand in some space when they don't have the ball and run in to some space after they've passed it, keeping compact as a unit. We don't have anything like either the rehearsed patterns of play of Fulham or the great training on the basics and high tempo of Leeds. We have little or no personality, the players quite often look lost, we are very often too drawn out on the pitch, our movement is poor and as a result our possession is poor, and we struggle to create. Oh, and we don't have a defence to speak of anymore. I can't see us even getting in to an automatic promotion spot this year like we briefly did last year. Guest av1 Posted September 14, 2018 Share Posted September 14, 2018 I don't cut Bruce any slack with regards to the squad needed to be rebuilt again this season, because he's the reason that our squad was made up of loans rather than taking a long term view. We will be in exactly the same postion next season aswell given hald the first 11 are again loans. So will the rebuild excuse be valid again next season when we lose 4/5 players? I just dont see how we are going to become a team that plays good football let alone one that can survive i the Premier league under him.
