New Villa signing Scott Sinclair has revealed his hunger to return to playing football was the driving force behind the move and is keen to prove that "my best years are ahead of me" after joining the club on a season-long loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer.

"It feels great to be here and the deal is finally done," said Sinclair.

"It's taken a few weeks but I'm happy to be here, to be in the building and to be signing for the club and ready to play some football.

"It's nice to be able to get settled somewhere and be a part of something going forward.

"I spoke to the manager, Paul Lambert, and he gave me his views on what he wants from me here at Villa. I am still hungry to play football, that's what I told him, and I'm looking forwarding to getting started, hopefully playing every week and enjoying my football.

"I believe I have my best years ahead of me. This is a new challenge, a new chapter in my life, and hopefully I can settle in as quickly as possible, have a good start and go from there."

Villa manager Lambert expressed his delight at adding Sinclair.

"I knew a lot about Scott from his time at Swansea, where he was excellent at Championship level and then was outstanding in their first season in the Premier League," added Lambert.

"He got a great move to Manchester City, where it didn't work out as well as he probably would have wanted, but it's up to us now to get the best out of him.

"He's got great ability and I'm looking forward to working with him. His goal record for a winger while he was at Swansea was excellent so he can add goals to the side, and he's got great pace as everyone knows about.

"I think he'll add something to the side and I'm delighted we've managed to get him here."

Sinclair also revealed his excitement at playing with Fabian Delph, his former team-mate at England junior levels, after Delph committed his future to the club this week.

"It's great for the club that Fabian has signed his contract," Delph added.

"I think he's made a good decision signing here because he's playing football every week and enjoying it at a great club.

"I've had a few clubs and been on loan a few times so I've played with a few of the boys here and I know a few more. That always helps when you go to a new team so now it's about looking forward and pushing on."

I think he's on about the bloke who came on here yesterday claiming to have seen Sinclair's signing video on AVTV. Can't remember who it was. Obvious BS, anyway.
