Mantis
Oh for goodness sake people, have a reality check. We're in total limbo from owner to manager to contracted players; we also don't have any spending power in the circumstances. To sign any experienced Premier league player under 30 who plays in a position in which we need cover is a good thing. Yes, he's prone to errors. Yes, he's not 'world class'. Yes, he's not an ambitious or exciting signing. But until a takeover we've got to accept that 'exciting' signings are not going to happen - and in the meantime a bit more pragmatism might save our collective sanity. And even when/if a takeover does happen, we're not likely to start suddenly buying loads of world class players.

samjp26
He'll add a threat at set pieces, pretty good in the air at least. Maybe some of this too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnZSO4bkz48

Demitri_C
two year deal free transfer for a international player am ok with this signing. the main point is there is a hell of a lot of competition at cb so if someone performs crap they are out i just hope this doesnt mean lamberts going to play this crap 5 at the back system
robojoel
Will he improve us? Probably By how much? Not a lot Edited June 5, 2014 by robojoel
Milenko27
I think he will fit us good in pair with Vlaar. His experience and style of play is to get stuck in and this will give Vlaar a chance to control the defence better. As long as Vlaar is fit, Senderos suits us better then Hangeland who would be too simular too Vlaar. This also propably will mean that we will have an experienced cb at hand for each game and not having to burden Baker and Clark with so much responsibility each game. CB often have their best years around 27-31 when they are experienced and know how too read the game and before they loose too much of speed and strength. Mantis
Senderos is clearly Benteke's replacement for when the latter is sold this summer for £1m.
Phumfeinz
Better back-up than Baker and Clark. I'm happy.
Amo69
I wouldn't say I'm happy about this signing but considering the scheme of things it has to be seen as a sensible signing if nothing else.
Amo69
Senderos is clearly Benteke's replacement for when the latter is sold this summer for £1m. Do you say that because fans think Vlaar could leave? Senderos may not be his replacement but the chances of us needing to replace him are quite high at the moment.
maqroll
Added depth and competition, this is a very good signing for what Villa are right now. Hopefully he is considered surplus to requirements sooner rather than later.

Senderos may not be his replacement but the chances of us needing to replace him are quite high at the moment. I just think some people are being a bit over-dramatic. The club are not stupid - they know they have to do everything they can to keep Vlaar. He could leave but saying the likelihood of him leaving is "quite high" is just hyperbole at the moment.
