Always perplexed me this one, why would I want them to actually cook my pizza, by the time its got home, its colder and solidified. I'd rather have it freshly cooked at home. Pizza takes about ten mins to cook so I don't get it.

EDIT: I don't know why Takeaway pizza places don't offer you their pizzas in uncooked form, so you can cook them yourselves. As an option obviously

You can do that too.

I can drive to my sainsburys in about 45 seconds so I went for the cooked option.

We do always struggle to cook them properly at home in the oven.

The usual result is one side half burned and the middle still doughy.  Probably need a proper pizza oven to really cook them satisfactorily at home.

We have had all different kinds of oven, the latest being a higher than average priced Bosch with different types of fan assistance and still can't stop it, in fact the posher newer one is actually worse than the last one for it which is frippin a annoying.

Bay leaves, garlic, Worcester sauce, tomato paste and then a.n.other green herb of your choice, veg is usually the usual 3 celery, onion, carrot but you could try fennel if you like the flavour and want it slightly different, sprinkle of chilli flakes and then I'm not a red wine man but usually that would be in there somewhere, beef stock obviously

Super dark chocolate towards the end if you want to add some bitterness

Personally I like Hungarian goulash which goes heavily down the paprika route and more tomatoes

Also as a suggestion to go way out there... If you've got some good stewing beef make a thai massaman curry

Appreciate it seems straightforward enough.

I have never had fennel before(At least in something I made myself) but always up to try something new.

Fennel is aniseed so it's an acquired taste, imo it roast really well, good in like a Mediterranean style roast veg alongside carrots and peppers etc

No I realise that, I was just saying that I don't understand why most people opt for that, it you live round the corner it makes sense but most don't I would imagine

It's easier innit.

I don't want to order a takeaway I have to cook myself, not matter how easy it is.

Anyone make their own pizzas? Just wondering if pre made bases are better than buying pizza base mix and making it yourself?

did it a few weeks ago. it was OK, but i feel you need a pizza oven or one of those stones that goes in the oven to make it properly nice. we decided we'd just buy bases going forward.

Do they make a difference? Most instructions say to put it on a wire rack

They tell you to put it on a wire rack because it needs the air flow but the wire rack doesn't act like stone of the pizza oven and give direct heat underneath. Those things do both

so ive done these 3

Cadbury launches three new Dairy Milk flavours including brownie, banoffee crumble and fizzing cherry

the brownie one was probably the only one that you'd get without reading the description, the popping candy in the cherry one was great but all 3 of them are pretty poor

Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Honeycomb & Nuts 105G - Tesco Groceries

so was that one, the honey comb doesnt work, ive moved on to the crunchy dairy milk and its not even half as good as a normal crunchie so its pointless

I had a Kim Jong Bun burger at lunch (at a place called Josie's if you know it - they have places dotted around the South).  It was pretty epic, although very messy!

Picture buttermilk fried chicken dipped and completely covered in gochujang sauce and then topped with homemade kimchi and miso mayo.  Lovely.

Well yes, I do apologise :D.  When you're in good company with colleagues you haven't seen in a long time, the last thing you want to do is look at the bloody phone!

Anyone been to...

Holborn Dining Room No. 252 High Holborn, London, United Kingdom WC1V 7EN

Was featured on celebrity masterchef last night. They specialise in pies, wellingtons etc, looks unbelievable.

Haven't been down to the smoke for a while but this place is very tempting.

Wanted chip shop today, but one of my daughter is coeliac so can only get gluten free on certain days.

Though sod it I'll make it, so did some chips and home made lamb doner kebab and chicken kebab. It was actually pretty damn good. Both the doner and chips worked so well. Whether it was good enough to do it again though not so sure, a proper ball ache when I would have took about 15mins to get get to the chippy and back and a lot less washing up.

Day 4 in england

Saturday was within 5 mins of being home the Indian was ordered, went for a special that was a CTM mixed with jalfrazi to give it a kick, was actually a bit spicy for me but really good

Sunday full English breakfast

Monday Greggs for a apple Danish and a sausage, cheese, bean melt, they only had vegan but it was ok

Yesterday was a hot pork sandwich for dinner and fish and chips for tea

Today is a trip to han bao in worcester

Around this I've got Xmas pudding flavoured digestives, pineapple jaffa cakes (both are a no from me, not worth it) some cadburys old Jamaica and dairy milk orange, also saw a Guinness chili con carne sauce packet which will do for tomorrow night

I'm going back the size of a house
