Transfer Speculation (Winter 2014)

It is that attitude that makes you sound like a spoilt child.

We don't have any right to expect a sugar daddy owner to spend their own money on the club. The money we earn needs to be reinvested (Ellis didn't even manage that) but the extra money Lerner puts in every year on top of that is a bonus, not something to take for granted.

And its this attitude that makes you come across as a pathetic supporter of Lerner more concerned about the finances of a billionaire than the club you support.

No one forced him to buy the club but he did and he has a responsibility to make us competitive. This is professional sport at the end of the day.

The fact he has **** up should not mean that the club and the fans suffer.

Why you're happy for us to suffer while a ridiculously wealthy man makes sure he keeps his money is beyond me.

How do you pay your mortgage each month?

Lerner **** up with MON and Houllier, and I'm glad he doesn't continue to **** up now... shows he can actually run a company.

Lambert not being there means F.A. He ain't the doctors or CEOs to carry out medicals or contract talks.

this.

a chat on the phone or a skype with Lambert about his plans for him would suffice.

although I do doubt we'll do any business.

And its Merseyside....not Moscow! Presumably they have mobile phone masts in scouseland?

True, however it would be as equally easy for him to travel later without the squad, like you said it is only the Merseyside. I think this points more towards "no signing"

Going in to the second half of the season with no CAM is so risky.

We've done a season and a half without one, if we have to wait until the summer and actually get a decent one thats fine by me.

Thats what most us think will happen but what would happen if summer comes and we end up bringing Hoolahan in

Really would be a joke.

Yup, Culverhouse et al would have been able to get the lads to the hotel and whatever else they need to do, Lambert could've met up with them later. Nothing is going to happen now, Hoolahan was all we could afford so it seems (or at least we thought so until the deal died).

Even though it points towards there not being any signings, it'd surely make sense for Lambert to have his backroom staff around him to discuss which player they should possibly sign, if an offer or two was accepted?

Im almost certain they will have discussed all this way in advance, and as someone else said its 2014 ffs many modes of communication available. Plus it would be Faulkner etc dealing with negotiations.

You'd think a potential signing would like to speak to the manager in person before committing though
