I wonder if there'll be a point in the window, where if we've not moved on the players we want to, that RDM will get the go ahead to sign players he wants anyway? Although squad size is an issue with them, surely they'd rather have a larger squad with added players they want as opposed to a large squad with players not wanted and none added in. -

Great news and a positive step forwards for the club with that deal. He seems to have a plan, which is a bit of a novelty for us. The great news is that he isn't hanging around at all. There seems to be a fantastic business acumen beneath that oversized suit of his. -
Hopefully we can get a proper number 9 in that shirt now.

If the Blues team that was cobbled together last season can finish top half and around the play offs then I'm sure we will be there or thereabouts with the play offs.

Always liked Gil. It's a shame to see him leave. I always remember Sherwoods line of 'he can open a tin with his left foot'. Unfortunately never seemed to settle or get a good run of games, but had some moments of pure magic.

Without checking didn't a large portion of those 27 goals come from the spot that season? Still a very very good return which is be absolutely delighted with any Villa player getting next season.

It's a huge shame he's not been offered a deal. I guess RDM felt he wasn't quite up to it which is fair enough. Honourable mention to villa_southerner having the info 24 hours before release. Spot on so far. Keep them coming!

I imagine RDM will be at both as they're not too far apart in distance, so there'll most likely be a mixture in both squads so he can see everyone.

I just mentioned on Twitter that I wouldn't mind trying to nab Rhodes off Boro. They seem to have bigger fish to fry with the likes of Negredo coming in. From the players perspective he's unlikely to want to drop down after only just getting his first opportunity in the Prem.

Prime position just off the M6 too. I enjoy seeing Villa Park most days on my way past on the M6. Theres no logical reason for us to move anywhere. The current site has plenty of development opportunity.
