He looked very good to me. Commanded well and was confident, just a shame his kick went the way it did. In fairness he still cleared it 40 yards, and a couple of ricochets and Forestieri is in on goal. Even my Grandad who is a tough Villa fan to please commented on how impressed with him and Elphick he was!

He looked taller than 4'11" to me. Was very impressed with him and Gollini today for their chatter and organising. Looked much more solid than last season.

i'm pleased that Ayew has number 10, and the no.9 should soon be freed. I was a striker in my yoof, so like to see these numbers occupied by players who deserve them.

Gregg Evans has Amavi in his predicted line up. I hope he's right. I expect to see: Gollini, Hutton, Elphick, Baker, Amavi, Gardner, Westwood, Grealish, Ayew, Bacuna, Gestede. Not necessarily what I'd like to see, but there we go.

He looks a little bit smaller, and less stocky here. Hopefully that'll be a good thing for him.

At centre back I don't agree we are 'truly awful', it's most likely the strongest set of centre backs in the league in reality! Midfield definitely needs strengthening IMO. I agree there.

Linekar slacking and missing the signing of Kaputska. Looks a very good player. As does Musa tonight against Barca.

Yeah got it thanks Jareth. Normally post on my phone so that's where my issue was. I like Xia tweeting, but feels strange having him announce signings for us this way!

Ah i normally post on my phone but had a go on the laptop... and yes a simple copy and paste works. I know nothing about this Gabriel Jesus, but amazing how he gets a work permit because of the size of the chequebook in front of the panel, or gifted and talented as it's also known.

2nd most expensive signing ever for us, if the figure is £14m is correct, is he not?

What I also like about this signing, despite him being the best goal scorer in the league for the last 3 seasons, is the fact he was their captain too. Another leader added to the ranks. Makes sense all round. Fulham fans must be fuming, losing Dembele and McCormack in the same window.

Ross McScoremack! I'm all for it. Proven at this level for many seasons now and dying for a chance in the Premier League. Hopefully he can fire us there.
