  1. I still think they are the best Premier League side ever - and they’ll rightly be disappointed with this showing against Liverpool.

    Wolves

Not disputing any of that - taking a touch still makes it much easier.

    Wolves

It’s much easier when you take a touch to settle it. The distance is crazy though.
  4. Hatred is a bit strong, but you’ve answered it yourself right here - the guy is just a prick.
  5. I wondered about this. On the replay, it looked like maybe Onomah? Not sure.
  6. Beautiful strike - so composed with that volley. Scholes-esque in the way he just watched it, didn't rush at all. Boom. Also funny to compare that to Whelan's attempt from a similar situation in the first half
  7. Fairly outrageous that he wasn't MOTM tonight. That save from Whelan was immense. Class tonight.
  8. View on a podcast I was listening to is that Pep is rattled by Klopp and tries odd things to try and get past his tactics... which his teams have never coped with.
  9. Yes, absolutely rather than Nuno. Obviously, he's done a great job, but Wolves were expected to compete. Cardiff were basically tipped for mid table obscurity yet are nailed on for at least playoffs.
  10. Absolutely. Judging a player on what their country has won is utterly baffling.
  11. It’s all getting pretty ridiculous - Messi scored his 45th career hattrick yesterday, his 7th direct free kick of the season and became the first player to score goals from outside the box in 6 consecutive league games (since such a stat was being taken, at least).

    Liverpool

Yeah, I thought that following the second (longer) video. It’s a LOT of objects being thrown.
  13. There's a massive difference between "could" and "would". No guarantee Fulham go up but, equally, no guarantee that Stoke stay up. One side is on the up, one side is clearly not. It's also a complete misconception that teams hire a first-choice manager more often than not. Jokanovic/Fulham may well have been approached by Stoke. I don't believe that Paul Lambert would've been their first choice man for the job. He'll have just been "the next one" on a list.
  14. There's been a lot made of Ronaldo's goalscoring exploits this season - well, in the Champions League at least - and the debut season for Mo Salah at Liverpool. However, somewhat under the radar for whatever reason, Ciro Immobile scored his 37th goal of the season for Lazio last night, against RB Salzburg. With 26 goals in Serie A this season, Immobile is bettered only by Salah (29) in league goals scored across Europe's top leagues. Last season, he scored 23 Serie A goals leaving him with 49 goals in 63 league games for Lazio. Will he be leaving in the summer to try his luck outside Italy once more? I don't remember him being particularly successful at Dortmund, but he's clearly in the form of his life right now.
  15. They'll be fine - just sell a couple of players if they have to. They paid a relatively large amount (from memory) on getting Boga and Gallagher in - neither will be there next season.
  16. a] Zero guarantee Jokanovic would keep them up (lol?) b] Why would he leave a promotion chasing side to go to a potentially-relegated side?
  17. My daughter is now 5 months old and sleeping has become ever so slightly better. That said, she was born 6lbs 7oz and apparently heavier babies sleep better. Maybe you'll be in luck. Maybe...

    Knife Violence

I don't particularly track/care for crime in London - it's so far removed from my life that I have no need to look at it. However, it does seem that victims/perpetrators are getting younger and younger and more cowardly in their dealings, perhaps? Particularly with, e.g: the acid attacks committed across the city in order to steal phones et al. Just shocking. And, outside of the homicide rhetoric, there does seem to be a bit of a knife problem at the moment: "Seven more people have been injured in stabbings in London as the spate of violent crime in the capital continues. A boy aged 13 was seriously hurt in an attack in Newham, east London, and another in his late teens suffered stab wounds in Ealing, west London. Two 15-year-old boys and a 16-year-old were hurt in Mile End and another 15-year-old was stabbed in Poplar." (Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-43659952) Just look at the ages of the people involved here. Madness.

    Liverpool

I don’t know - but how is it banta or high jinks? How are they “offended by everything, ashamed of nothing” based on that? I don’t get it. It would be hilarious if they got turfed out of the competition, but I don’t see Liverpool fans condoning/defending/being unashamed of this.
  21. They're "smashing it" at second division youth level. Blackburn are currently ahead of them in that table... but aren't playing those brilliant youth players at senior level and, somehow, are top of League One. We're sat 4th in the Championship - I highly, highly doubt our youth are the difference between that and being 1st/2nd/3rd. Youth leagues are there for young players to develop and start to challenge for a first team place. I'd argue that Keinan Davis, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, Andre Green and Callum O'Hare are basically fringe first team players. Of these players, only Keinan Davis is in his 20's. Andre Green was a first team regular before his injury setback. The notion that we don't blood youth players is just absolute nonsense. Harry Kane, one of the greatest English youth talents of his generation, aged 19, had made one Premier League appearance for Spurs. It lasted 4 mins - he came on as a sub. Slowly but surely, he developed and now look at him. I don't understand this clamour for rushing youth players into the senior team for the sake of it. Let them be a success at youth level, let them work hard for their ultimate reward and then don't jump on their backs when they don't immediately set the World alight. Jonathan Kodjia seemingly only became a regular professional footballer aged 23/24.

    Liverpool

I'm not entirely sure where any defence of this has been? Klopp apologised immediately after the incident, I haven't seen any commentary from anyone saying the attack was acceptable... ..."loveable high jinks", "banta"? What?
  23. Their shots per goal/game ratio will be massively different at Villa. Kodjia created his own chances, didn't bother linking up with people and would just smash the ball from 20+ yards. Hogan plays off the last defender and looks to link with players, finishing off moves. They're very different players, but in a comparison of "better finisher", I'd be willing to guess that Hogan has a better shot/goal ratio than Kodjia.
