Couldn't find a thread but he has retired today and became full time manager. I think people will think he underachieved and maybe he could have looked after himself but what a great career he had. He was never in Messi/Ronaldo quality which he was unfairly compared but one of the finest strikers England has produced. Kane will beat his England record but Rooney will always have the better CV

There's a lot of debate over Neymar, and whether he'll be a success at Barcelona or not. If you're not familiar with how good he is (or even if you think you are), take a look at this: http://soccersagacity.com/2013/05/26/neymar-barcelonas-new-superstar-2/ Technically gifted, arrogant, selfish...a number of good and bad traits. No doubt, he is a talent. I think Villanova needs to use Messi as a mentor, so that Neymar learns how to mix his individual brilliance with team work ethic. It's about the right skills at the right time. Full debate here on whether or not he'll s

Might as well have one of these as well don't we. How does your GOAT 11 look? So to not make it utterly ridiculous it's obviously only players in your lifetime so I won't be adding guys like Pele or Puskas for example who I never saw play. Choose any formation you like but if it's a back 4 it shouldn't contain 4 RB's and so on. No 0-0-0-11 formations . I'll get back to you with mine.

Gordon Banks has passed away. He was our keeper in the 1966 World Cup and made that unbelievable save from Pele in the 1970 World Cup finals. He was the best goalkeeper that I have ever seen play by a country mile. Gordon also made a brilliant save from a Geoff Hurst penalty in a League Cup semi-final in the early 70s at Upton Park among others too frequent to mention He was in goal for Leicester for my first ever Villa game and not surprisingly kept a clean sheet. He also had a connection with our club having had a spell as goalkeeping coach at Villa Park. He gave a defence such confiden

I think Harry Kane probably justifies his own thread now, this is one of the most memorable breakthrough seasons in a long time. First England call up this week and as I type he's just jumped ahead of Diego Costa at the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts with 19 (not bad for a guy who wasn't even in the Spurs first XI until November) and is up to 29 for Spurs in all competitions. He's virtually guaranteed the young player of the year award. It's quite conceivable he'll finish the season with the golden boot and player of the year gong too. Not bad for a guy who, as fa

To be honest, it's about time.. I'm only 18, so for me...he's the best player I've ever seen and even when you look at old clips from past legends, they don't seem to be able to do the stuff he does. What I love is the fact he uses next to nothing in terms of trickery, it is just sheer dribbling, ball control. This is where it is crazy. 19 starts. 5 off the bench. 12 assists, 27 goals. Still at least 25 games left to play, most likely that will be around 31-35. Presuming he's fit and plays say starts 27-30 games, it's not out of the question that 25 assists and 60 goals could be
