  1. Maybe so - but you've still got to respect the managers' decision, even if you don't agree with them. e.g: Olivier Giroud, who is seemingly just a super sub these days - his goals/minute ratio must be immense. Carroll didn't come on against Man City and, instead of sitting on the bench like a normal footballer, went off to sulk in the dressing room instead. I mean, for **** sake.
  2. Not at all - Bayern absolutely dominated Real, but didn't take their chances. Nothing even remotely close to "dispatched with ease".
  3. This is true - but potentially worth noting that Real (and Bayern, FWIW) have not given a shit about the league for absolutely ages. Quite surprising to see a team just completely give up on competing in the manner that they have, but that's what has happened. Will be a different midfield performance against Liverpool/Roma.
  4. Horrible team with World's most obnoxious player as their focal point. That moment where Asensio(?) slipped over and then stayed down "injured" holding his leg - I wish Bayern had played on. The moment in the area where Navas and Varane went down "injured" - ref should've pointed Varane off the pitch for treatment. I hate that gamesmanship so much. Real were outclassed in both legs but go through; urgh. Genuinely hope Liverpool/Roma destroy them.
  5. Assuming you mean in the relegation battle... Blues 0-2 Fulham Bolton 2-1 Forest Derby 3-2 Barnsley Preston 2-0 Burton
  6. I don't understand the need to constantly rate leagues against other leagues (I'm guessing we're all brainwashed by the constant "PREMIER LEAGUE IS THE BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD!!" stuff from Sky) - can't people just enjoy them for what they are? That goal is **** incredible. Fair play Aus.
  7. **** this Madrid team. Just a bunch of cheats and dirty ****. Varane going down on the byline over nothing and Ramos having a go at the ref. Such an embarrassingly pathetic side. Hope Bayern somehow manage to dick them.

    Liverpool

Literally no comment on this. But outrage over a bus. Superb
  9. If Bolton win and Blues lose, I'd say a 4-goal swing is actually very likely, rather than very unlikely... ...but I can't see Burton or Barnsley winning, so the point is moot really.
  10. It's hardly an uncommon theme to not perform against perceived lower quality sides (or for lower quality sides to bring a better game against "bigger" sides etc.). I mean, look at us this season - beaten Wolves, Cardiff and Fulham at home, but lost to Sheff Wed and QPR.
  11. I know what you're saying here - but what a pathetic state of affairs that such action is needed. The public should see a bunch of lying muppets in charge and just vote against them next time out. But, nope.
  12. They've scored more than any other side outside the top 6 and are still battling for 8th place. The football would have to be pretty awful for that to be an issue, surely!
  13. I thought it was more the players. Leicester's players have apparently downed tools (yet again, lol, what a great bunch) for their manager so I don't think he'll be there at the start of next season.
  14. In which case, it wasn’t aimed at everyone. God, we’re a sensitive bunch.

    Arsenal

I agree with all of this, but I don't see how that demonstrates being "tactically and mentally stronger"? Arsenal had plenty of chances to kill off the game but didn't take them and then lapsed and conceded. Sure, typical Arsenal, but nothing amazing that Atletico did. They defended very well - that's their entire being. That's what this Simeone side does; defend, defend, defend. It's no surprise at all that they were still able to defend when a player light by sacrificing their offence.

    Arsenal

Not sure about this. I know it’s trendy to hate English teams in Europe, but Atletico did absolutely nothing yet scored after (yet another) a defensive error. Is that really being “tactically and mentally stronger”?
  17. Because of talent? I mean, that’s only a list of appearances.
  18. Possibly for promotion overall, but not for the title (although I'm not sure how this differs tbh). People who aim wages at Bruce as a measure of underachievement are somewhat narrow-minded.
  19. The amount of dislike in football in staggering - and particularly with this somewhat weird validation that giving players abuse is completely OK. Agbonlahor is a limited striker who has given us some great moments. I'm sure it will be emotional for him and I hope the fans give him a good send off.
  20. True... ...but they drew 0-0 with Wolves whilst down to 10-men, so you never know.
  21. Complete overreaction. I imagine Derby were no better than 5th favourites for the title at the start of the season and are currently 6th. “Failed badly” ffs. The failures this season have been Sheff Wed, Reading, Hull and Sunderland.

    Wolves

It’s more dodgy, absolutely. Sure, City and Chelsea have money but they’re also huge sides who can attract talent. A side in the Championship signing Porto’s captain? Yeah, OK - Mendes I’m sure had no “relevance” there. He certainly must have been looking after the players’ best interests only

    Wolves

"Championship winners Wolves have had their relationship with super agent Jorge Mendes approved by the EFL, who say he "holds no role at the club"... ...The EFL findings said that Mendes should not be categorised as a 'relevant person' because he does not have the powers of a director or senior official at the club. A 'relevant person' can also be someone who has control over the affairs of the club." (Link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43896789) Absolutely laughable and, hopefully, going to open floodgates everywhere.
  24. a] That's a pretty hypothetical line right there. Your mate reckons Nuno is getting the boot, presumably? b] Well... no. I'd be pretty gutted if we got rid of a manager "for the sake of it". If he's unsuccessful, sure. But for the sake of it?! No thanks.
  25. They obviously aren't safe just yet, but in the true spirit of our prediction battle, @VillaChris (I'm sure you won't let me forget about Bournemouth)...
