  1. ...apart from that goal last night.
  2. Benteke’s effort was great - nowhere near top corner though.
  3. I cited Ibrahimovic in the same example - is he not a “big name” anymore? Sinclair’s is obviously hit and hope. He’s made a great connection and the ball has gone in, but he hasn’t placed his effort to beat the keeper. He’s hit it, very well, and it’s gone in. Nothing to do with being a big name here - that’s the media making the fuss.
  4. Sam Gallagher. I'm struggling to think of any loans they've got outside of Boga and Gallagher, though.
  5. I don't think they're particularly jammy tbh - their squad is comfortably good enough to avoid relegation. It's not like us in the Premier League where we were basically just waiting to go down by not investing properly.
  6. I think the one thing I'd say about this is that it's very much hit-and-hope. Sinclair is basically aiming to get a good connection and send the ball towards goal. The same as Ibrahimovic. The same as Bressan. They're all long range shots that are more spectacular, but are just aimed "towards the goal" really. Ronaldo's effort is right in the bottom corner - it's a deliberately placed effort. I guess it's tough to say which is better because, in many ways, Ronaldo's chance is "easier" to score from... but there's maybe less fluke about the execution of it.
  7. I'd have gone mental and celebrated wildly. (Also, Benteke's effort against Man Utd was better... )
  8. I think they're safe now. The bottom three as it stands will be relegated. Can't really see any of them getting to 40 points - potentially Barnsley, but they look fairly toothless.
  9. Scores an absolute worldie, "celebrates" by calling himself number one in front of the home fans. There is nothing likeable about Cristiano Ronaldo. He's completely classless.
  10. I'm assuming you think Wolves have a better team. I think the 3 best teams in the league are Wolves, Fulham and us - potentially in that order. I had bets on 2 teams winning the league - Fulham and then Wolves. Cardiff are the huge outliers; other than that, I think it's much of a muchness. As such, Bruce isn't doing a bad job at all IMO.
  11. Played as well as he did during our run of form without Jedinak. No brainer against poorer teams, but we may have messed up our chances of automatic by not playing him tbh. Was also amusing that, whilst his goal was beautiful, he had another 3 shots that were utter garbage.
  12. "One of" the? THE best? Where does it rank?
  13. Blues have had a forward sent off - they'll just be packing the defence.
  14. Hopefully this shit player continues to play games rather than lumbering Jedinak who offers zilch going forwards. Such a shit goal too.
  15. How strongly do you rate our squad?
  16. Bruce isn’t bulletproof at all - but he’s also not the ONLY PERSON TO BLAME. The truth is in the middle.
  17. Yes, he does - because he gets completely bypassed and tries to win the ball back; rather than being useful on the ball and driving us forward. His goals this season have made him appear to be better than he has been IMO. (Like the reverse of Grealish, who hasn’t scored but has generally been good)
  18. I didn't see the game (fortunately?!) so maybe this is true - however, it's fairly ridiculous to write him off after 1 game. Hourihane has been garbage for weeks now.
  19. In this instance, though, it wasn't utter waffle.
  20. He is (was?) the only player to have scored 20+ goals in 2 or more MLS seasons.
  21. These sides are poor and down there for a reason. It’s not terribly surprising that Middlesbrough equalised against Burton.
  22. I think so, yes. Haven’t really followed them (just watched the Arsenal game) but just seen they’ve played 6 teams in the top half in that run. Against lower half sides, they’ve beaten Huddersfield and drawn with Watford, Brighton and Southampton. Not good enough, but not a lost cause yet. They need a win in their next 4 (Liverpool, West Ham, Burnley and Spurs) though.
  23. Will agree to disagree. They hassled Arsenal really well and restricted them to basically nothing. Could’ve been a completely different outcome if Shaqiri’s corner (lol) went in. Arsenal ended stronger - and it didn’t look like anything other than an Arsenal win after the first penalty - but Stoke basically played as well as you could’ve hoped (if you were a Stoke fan).
  24. Completely irrelevant. Lambert is being ridiculed for saying they were excellent and the penalty (which should never have been given) changed the game. He’s correct.
