It's something I just can't get my head around. Out VAR system doesn't work if incorrect decision aren't sorted out because of the ref making the decision first. Im.still of the opinion that there shouldn't be a VAR official making a decision....the ref should always go over to the monitor himself to re-watch. At least it's only one person in charge then.

West Ham completely done over by VAR today. How that pen was ever confirmed I will never know.

Absolute toss. Brighton had 8 shots on target and scored 6 goals because wolves kept given them the ball and then having no defence or central midfield to protect. Whoever their CB was today was atrocious. Hopefully they're as friendly as that next week.

Basically we need Boro to go up and loan Archer and Ramsey again. (I know loan rules prevent that though) Other clubs at the top loan players to Prem teams...that's what we need to do with Cam and Ramsey next season.

And yet VAR didn't make a decision and Forest dropped valuable points instead of playing against ten men. Another feather in their cap.

Bowen and Paqueta would be good pick ups and fit into some improvement areas we have. I'm not sure Rice would even suit how Emery wants us to play. Would you take him over Luiz or Kamara for example? I could see someone like Fornals being the type of 'underwhelming' signing that Emery would be a signing for the system that turns out well.

Get a tradies Titan from Screwfix. Very cheap and could suck the skin of a banana. Not great looking and they need a paper bag...but **** me it cleans the floor well!

This fits with how I think VAR should work. Ref gives it (even if unsure) goes to monitor and checks himself. Not an issue.

Why the **** was Mings' "handball" even looked at by VAR? What could they possibly have been considering there?

The chance where Ramsey had a shot (and it was handballed over the bar by the defender) was a very well worked piece of play.

The number of players we get in support of each other in attacking phases of play is a real plus point of the work Emery has put in. We had it at points under Smith and Gerrard but it seems to be consistently happening throughout a run of matches now. We'll get a lot more goals because of it.

It's a foul. When a ref is able to watch a video replay and can see they shirt being pulled away from a players body, it's a free kick. Traore is a tank, it wouldn't stop him, but when it's so clearly a shirt pull it should be given.

I like Cash, but he always has to play at full tilt to join in the game and it disrupts everything he does. For me, I can accept the scrambled defending, but I think he is stunting us quite a lot through his safe passing. He's just not brave enough to pass through the lines, so more often than not he goes backwards. Very Neil Taylor-esque. A ball player, not too far off the standard of a younger Ashley Young would have a big impact imo.

There was a bit in the second half where Emi Had the ball at his feet and West Ham just refused to close him down...so he waited, and waited until they moved and then we played out in the spaces they left. It's such a tight philosophy of Emery's that we won't move away from it. The style of play is having results though. It is getting us goals each game that are structured in the same way.

Redknapp matches my opinion. VAR shouldn't be making any decisions. The ref should go over to the monitor and make it for himself, every time. There shouldn't even be a chance for someone else to have to see if there is 'enough' to overturn...just let the ref review his original decision!

Absolutely oozed confidence and had the passing range to back it up. Really good game.

Because his output was so visible when he was playing well under Gerrard, we are expecting similar to be able to say 'he's playing well'. Emery's system takes the need for people to be individually brilliant away completely. Last match he had the most turnovers/interceptions at HT but was described as anonymous. This week he's been poor even though he's contributed to our game well. Nothing standout, but he is reliable with the ball, carries it well, and does a good amount of defensive work. He's fine. (But I have a feeling he has more to come)
