  1. Bad take imo. You have just described Bailey. Traore controlled the ball well, worked in good passin movements, and actually beat opposition players without tripping over the ball. We looked better when the ball wasn't getting turned over so much on the right hand side. Not much, but better.
  2. All started with JJ and Moreno being made to look poor by Bowen. Gave away the corner unecessarily. Hopefully we do better at that second half.
  3. The build up play for the Watkins chance that Areola saved frm two yards was absolutely brilliant. We built patiently from the back, restarting to drawn West Ham out when necessary. Then we passed through modified before some great, intricate passing in the box to make the chance. Genuinely fantastic. Played with the West Ham shape like a puppet, making them go where we wanted whilst being in full control. Great stuff.
  4. Dive. Plain and simple. Nothing about Bailey's contact would make him fall over. Especially like that. However...bailey should not even be giving him that chance to buy a pen like that. And the refs should not be giving them...but somehow give them every time and it seems to have just been accepted. It's wank.
  5. They keep it tight. That gives them a good base. Then Almiron went on a run where he would score a worldie each match. That was never going to continue.
  6. The online shop is easy enough to use, the sizes will match whatever is at VP in the Villa Store. Be aware that online is very expensive for P&P - they include a handling fee as well. It's about £6 to get it delivered, then the returns cost is another £6, which is a bit hard to take.
  7. I think this more describes how c*unty Man City are for having a £100m player who has only made 14 starts.
  8. Loan to Boro -> Boro get promoted -> Loan again in Prem -> Archer scores 6-10 goals -> Back to Villa to prosper.
  9. "Clever" is just code for 'shouldn't be a penalty but we've come to accept that it's the way things are now'. Keane and Neville both tried their best to call him 'clever' and it's just part of the game. I think my problem is with the ruling (or maybe even modern football in general)
  10. I agree, mostly. There is a difference to running across somebody and getting tripped...and running past somebody and then reaching out with your back leg to make contact from an unnaturally far distance. I genuinely don't know what Ramsey could do there. He's kept far enough away so he didn't trip him clumsily but in today's rules cannot do a sausage.
  11. I think he's mentally fragile...and it's turned his game to shit. He often miscontrols the ball...and whiffs it more than I've ever seen any pro footballer. I'd even go as far as to say all the trips, slips, and stumbles he has are down to being unsure of what to do next.

    Jhon Durán

I'm impressed with him. His size, strength, and pace add a lot to our breaks. He was outmanoeuvred by Laporte every time the ball was in the air, which showed how inexperienced he still is, but in terms of footballing impact he looks like he could be very handy. Also like how he is willing to have a bit of a nibble. When Moreno got in round the back, I felt he could've cut it back to Duran first time...and so did Duran! Shows a good level of confidence in himself.
  13. Interesting that you mention Hourihane because I get similar vibes from Finn. Maybe not the most dominate or athletic player in the league...but his numbers are so, so good.
  14. He's just absolutely ice cold in front of goal. He knows what he will do and he pretty much knows what the keeper will do. He's like Max Payne going into slo-mo whilst everything is still at full speed. It's why I think he'll make it. I don't think you can teach it and it's invaluable.
  15. He's worth a lot more, but I can see him going for £50m - £60m
  16. Always likely once he'd won the world cup. We just don't have the pull to keep him. At least in terms of winning things. He's had the taste of winning and rightly wants more. We say thank you. Sell. Get decent money. Move on.
  17. He's done well to soldier on after such a serious stroke. Poor guy.
  18. Pretty sure Engels made the list of fast Prem players one year. Makes me sceptical of how it's calculated. Edit: He was clocked at 36.84kmph, equal 8th fastest with Kyle Walker that season. I think it mast have been taken when he was driving his car away from the ground as there's no way he did it in a game.
  19. Would have probably boosted Angel's transition as well having a a team mate come across with him. What could have been...

    Gerard Deulofeu

Sliding doors moment perhaps. Wonder if we'll change target to get another in earlier.
  21. Playing out like a classic Villa transfer under NSWE. 1.Initial rumour from sources in teams country. 2.Goes quite for a week or two. 3.Announced 'out of nowhere' with fairly little fuss. Just waiting for step 3...
  22. I think I largely lie on this side of things, but at some point we have to stop writing off seasons and wasting time. We're close to the European places (points wise) with Fulham, Brentford, and Brighton to chase down. That's not a forlorn situation. I don't think that they are the type of teams that we need to 'slip up'. They won't be going on any mad winning streaks...we just need to keep largely matching them and beat them when we play them. That'll have us pretty close. Chelsea and Liverpool also having stinkers push the chance even further into our sights. Let's go for it!
  23. It felt like that was largely how they were getting their wins though...with Almiron scoring worldies from nowhere to swing matches in their favour. They have drawn a fair few when he wasn't able to. This is probably wrong, as I know they have won by a few big scores too.
  24. Looks good progressing up the pitch. Would've had a really nice assist if Bailey hadn't slipped. In defence, he just needs to get better a dealing with physical moments (either buying a FK or positioning himself better) but I thought he was generally good in that area too.
