Overall I think we've had a great set of matches over there. The overall results will say two draws and a win, but the football we have played has been exceptional for the most part. Emery's completely upgraded every player's skillset and has them working as a team. It's fantastic.

I quite like the fact that this Women's World Cup feels like Men's World Cups from yesteryear in the sense that scouts are having a field day spotting players that would not be seen otherwise. Interesting to see if anyone comes Villa's way afterwards.

Nice kit. The blue shorts look so good with the new round badge. Surprised we haven't taken inspiration from the Holte before this.

I watched the first 10-15 minutes before falling asleep and noticed him playing some really nice passes, both long and short, in between lines of Fulham players across the floor. It looked like he started pretty well to me.

I haven't see the whole match, just the highlights...how was his overall game? How did he compare to Watkins when he came on?

I've only watched the highlights, but the big thing that stands out for me is the run and touch for the penalty and (more importantly) that after missing, within moments, he was there again to make another run, receive, and get a shot away. That's the natural striker in him. A very good sign.

He played very well for QPR for the first half of the season. He was ticking along nicely and arguably their strangest performer. Then QPR lost their marbles and began messing with managers in the second half. That never helps. I agree he needs another loan, but he did well in his last spell away despite QPRs best efforts to implode.

A second whinge from me about the badge...but you can see what sort of problem we have with our branding with this new design. At least with the old shield it was a unique shape, and in monochrome the lion stood out. Heck will want to sort that imo. The coloured badge in the actual playing jersey works better in that respect.

Annoyed that the (admittedly nice looking hoodies) have Aston Villa with a stinking great set of Castore wings above. Villa is the priority. Also, the monochrome badge looks cheap and lacks clarity on the training gear. Also reminds me of the poor Pride Rewards stuff...

I think it would be better for him to be with us for a bit longer before being loaned out, whether he's too young or not.

Not sure I agree with the 'no end product' in this review. A nice ball across that Watkins was close to, winning a corner from a last ditch interception. A shot that deflected closely wide. Another shot from his weaker foot that was a good effort from the edge of the box. (Those last two created by himself by winning the ball back first) There was also the break away where we scored the third where his cutback was struck against the post. Add as well that he won a penalty against Walsall. He can be held to 'no end product' if counting goals and assists... but I'd say that's a pretty good attacking output - Involved in two goals and worked the keeper/defence with his other two main chances against Newcastle.

What a scummy, scummy team Newcastle are. Bournemouth were shit heads in our first match back up, Newcastle were just as bad last season. How they can be so niggly and petty in a friendly is ridiculous. Bet they had over 20 fouls. We will batter these from a footballing perspective whenever we play them. Whether that's enough to win against them is a different story though

Rusty as hell. Will give away penalties. Will play delicious passes in to strikers. (Could be ours, could be the opposition)

Looks a very good prospect. Reminded me of Jacob Ramsey when he first came into the first team in the way that you could just tell his touch, balance, passing, and confidence were all natural enough to not have to think about.

Scares the shit out of me every time he has the ball, or has to do something with the ball.

Fairly standard Buendia performance imo...maybe with a bit extra power from somewhere. Involved in most (if not all) of our best creative work...but has still given the ball away when attempting through balls which frustrates at times.

If Diaby starts off playing the same way we'll all say he's settled in well and looks a player. Tired towards the end of the half but showed so much in the first 35 mins. He's a confident lad. If we can build on that, he'll be worth a squad place.

Decent half. Some really great football from us. Easily the better team. The reasons for giving away the goals are the same reasons that have made all the chances for us to score from. Part and parcel of our style.
