  2. Can't shake the idea that Floella Benjamin and Brian Cant have left it quite late for a career change to go into the restaurant business.
  3. Turned the telly on first thing on New Year's Day. The opening line of the local news was "The first stabbing of 2016 occurred just two hours into the New Year". So depressing.
  4. Happy new year you glorious bunch of bastards.
  5. At the risk of being a smartass, I became aware of that function within twenty minutes of unboxing my ps4 on Sunday.
  6. Thinking of taking up a trade. I thought the disco and drug trade was the one for me but apparently I'm missing some key qualifying criteria.
  7. Am I going to put the central heating on again this winter? So far it's only been on once and that was only for a couple of hours.
  8. I've never been much of a gamer but I have just recently obtained a PS4. I don't think I've played anything since GTAV so need some recommendations. I've almost no interest in online play (although I obviously will be checking out Rocket League, given the reception on here) but normally I prefer story-driven games rather than smash and bash. Past favourites have been RDR, GTA, Heavy Rain. What should I be getting now?
  9. It's about your soul, brother.
  10. I don't get why people need to pick holes. I finally saw it last night and loved it. I'm not even a fan of the franchise but for what it is, it's a great movie. It's not some highfalutin brain-teaser, it's a kids film with a broad appeal. It's got action, explosions, a few jokes, more than a whiff of incest and some cool robots. Sure, it has similarities to previous incarnations and the storyline doesn't bear too much scrutiny but it's just a bit of knockabout fun and a thoroughly enjoyable film.
  11. Back at work today. As if that wasn't bad enough, I have to sit and listen to a mad German colleague explain to all of us about a house in Gloucestershire which is 100% definitely haunted.
  12. Ah, but they don't have a double-decker dispensing machine at the pump.
  13. So far, so good. I went for the Afrobeat Box t-shirt too. Love it.
  14. Genuinely no idea where to start. Waited an age for them to arrive but 15 new albums arrived today in these lovely boxes. Thanks to Xann who I think was the first to alert me to this collection in this thread a while back.
  15. Always get protected NCB. Bit late for that advice now though. Sorry Jim. I'd imagine it's the computer that has made these decisions. Keep pushing them on it and see if they relent. As Chindie says, make sure you've got your facts straight on your policy first though.
  16. OK, rather than criticise others' tastes, I guess I should put my list up: 1 - Chic Cheer - Chic 2 - Tighten Up, Pt.1 - Archie Bell and the Drells 3 - Liberation Conversation - Marlena Shaw 4 - Stoned Love - The Supremes 5 - A Roller Skatin' Jam Named "Saturdays" - De La Soul 6 - Once In A Lifetime - Talking Heads 7 - Lip Up Fatty - Bad Manners 8 - Ca Plane Pour Moi - Plastic Bertrand 9 - Only Love Can Break Your Heart - Saint Ettienne 10 - I Got The..... - Labi Siffre
  17. I find 3, 9 and 10 particularly incompatible with the bold. Fee withheld.
  18. Looks like my next door neighbour has their apartment on the market for £400k. I'd no idea they'd risen that much in value as I only paid £240k for mine five years ago! I don't know how anyone gets a start these days. £400k for a flat in a grotty part of the outskirts of London is just madness.
  19. I thought you were moving to Bucks?
  20. Been thinking of investing in something similar for a while now (although for different reasons). I've absolutely no insight to offer I'm afraid but I'd like to know if these small units are capable of offering the same performance as a standard bigger projector. I might do some reading around over Christmas. If I find out anything interesting, I'll post it up in here.
  21. From the posts earlier in the thread, I'm possibly in the minority* but having finally caught up with the ending of Fargo, I have to say I loved it. I know people like an amount of exposition (Basil or otherwise) but I loved the fact that it didn't feel the need to explain itself and tie everything up in a nice neat bow. Definitely one of my favourite shows for a long while.
  22. Never ceases to amaze me how much we can read between the lines. One speculative article in the media (with no quotes) about us being willing to off-load him and one short quote from the manager saying he was unhappy that he was dropped. What professional player with appearance bonuses is happy at being dropped? Having said that, I do hope we get rid but I would imagine it's highly unlikely we will unless we sponsor his wages.

Because I'll claim I'm doing it ironically.
