  1. Surprised by Sugar on Appletv. Colin Farrel as a private detective, very noir but four episodes in so far and really enjoying it.

The thing I don’t get is the presumably london-based guys who are commentating on the match from the gaming chair in the flat. You’re that much of a fan that we should listen to your opinion but you only ever see them on telly. A truly baffling recent development.
  3. I put together a broking website using Dreamweaver back in the day. I had no knowledge of website building and had to teach myself as I went. My company ran that site for about 5 years, I think. It only died a death when I left and nobody had a clue how it worked. To be fair, neither did I!

    Elon Musk

Didn’t look too sad last night.
  5. I’m in the same boat. The only difference is that I work with a bunch of gooners. However tired I am, it’s going to be glorious when I get to work tomorrow.
  6. Seems to have the same reputation that SharePoint used to. So many bad implementations of it means that most people have a bad experience of it. If implemented well, it can be amazing.
  7. Villa Stella Balti. For many (many) years, I’d presumed the guy who owned the flag was married to a woman called Stella.
  8. Somewhat surprised that Civil War is getting such mixed reviews. Saw it at IMAX today and thought it was great. Not perfect by any means but a thoughtful film with some really good set pieces.
  9. 8 Episodes available so far. Google suggests that's the full season from what I can see.
  10. Only vaguely familiar with the game but after 3 episodes, I'm all-in on the TV series. It's really good so far.
  11. Most of the cars I've had in the last few years have had adaptive cruise control. Ally that with emergency braking and for me, it makes it safer. I've avoided one prang in the past when the car reacted quicker than I would have but then again, that might be because I was slightly detached, as you say.
  12. When you say 'successful", obviously you mean from the perspective of the customer, rather than the investors/vampires?
  13. As someone who has worked for a whole variety of charities over the last 25 years, I'd love to see the research on that one.
  14. Butterscotch Angel delight day was the best day ever as a kid. Especially when mum had enough money to slice some banana on top. I’m off to buy some now and see if it’s still as good.
  15. Seems a case of life imitating art or maybe there was no art and he is just an obnoxious being. I hope Wilson takes him down.
  16. Appreciate that, Bicks. Further reading on the subject required.
  17. What's the problem with stepping on toes? If you do, the worst that could happen is your mate gets the hump for a bit. If you don't and there's something really wrong, well...... Not digging you out specifically here. I would have been of the same mind in the past but if someone is genuinely having a really hard time of it, my experience is that if you push past the initial block, then people can open up. Sometimes you need to persist and give them permission. I know it's not that straightforward and none of us are trained experts in wonky brains but sometimes it's worth considering having uncomfortable conversations.
  18. This ain’t it. I mean, I guess for some people that might be the case but for most people going through a tough time, having someone get in touch will be a good thing. I know on the occasions where I’ve been less than myself, I’ve tended to shut myself away and steer clear of people. This has always been a negative reaction and it’s rooted in a mistaken belief that I don’t want to burden anyone and I can probably deal with it myself. I guess I can only speak from personal experience but a distraction from misery is almost always a good thing.
  19. It just keeps coming, doesn’t it? Remember Rishi’s opening salvo? Integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level.
  20. Not sure if it’s new on AppleTV or I missed it when it first came out but Five Days at Memorial is pretty traumatic. It’s all about a hospital that was cut off in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Really worth a watch.
  21. Firmly in hagiography territory but the Steve Martin documentary on Apple tv is still very enjoyable.
  22. Isn’t he on the bench for us tonight?
  23. I have this conversation with the ‘ammers at work all the time. I know it’s not the prettiest to watch but given they lost Rice in the summer, they’re still vastly outperforming in the league compared to last season. They want him out regardless. I guess they’ll find out how good Moyes was when they replace him.
  24. That's very judgemental of you. I'm sure all these people will have done their research.
