  1. I've occasionally had the old 'things used to be better' when in relationships and then inevitably when I became single again I realised that I'd romanticised the whole thing and that actually being single isn't all that great after all. Then, of course, things tend to work the other way and you start forgetting all the things that make relationships difficult.
  2. I let him know a few hours ago about it and seemed keen to join but I'm guessing he's going to be pretty busy today.
  3. Welcome to the forum. We have a belgian fan who only signed up to the forum because he was a fan of Benteke. It seems like he's now a big Villa fan. Being a Villa fan can sometimes seem difficult, especially recently however now that the club seems to be turning things around, our future looks a lot more bright and hopefully Okore will be one of our key players going forward. Thanks again for your input and BTW instead of forza we tend to say 'Up the Villa or UTV'
  4. Yeah, they did the same thing last year didn't they? Put up loads of promo shots a few days before the kit launch with Bent, Gabby etc on. In fact, wasn't that where Gardner had his herp derp thumbs up moment?
  5. You can buy an adapter that lets you use your official Xbox WIRED controller with your PS3. You can also buy an official Xbox 360 shaped wireless controller and have it built to work with your PS3. Not to mention they've changed the controllers for the ps4 so they are now quite a bit larger.
  6. Does anyone know what happened to Michelsen? It's a shame he stopped posting.
  7. I think a lot of people genuinely don't realise they are doing anything wrong in hogging the middle lane. Similarly, people don't seem to realise that most bus lanes have operating times and that in off peak hours you can drive in them. Every night I drive home at 10pm and have to drive at 20 mph so as to not undertake someone who has moved into the right hand lane to avoid the bus lane and then when the bus lane ends at a traffic lights they just cut over to the left without indicating or checking their mirrors.

    Three

    You should try giff gaff
  9. Wouldn't even bother appealing. If it's not from the council, throw it in the bin. I know someone who literally gets one every few days when he goes to the gym, must have racked up thousands of pounds worth of fines over the past couple of years.
  10. Aye, same with me when I cancelled with Orange, seems like they are less prepared to offer you deals with high end phones nowadays. They told me they wouldn't give me any discount despite having been with them for 5+ years and said 'I guess you want your PAC then' and that was that.

    Dogs...

Indeed, my wife was attacked by a staffy a week before our wedding. She was bitten 3 times by it, however the police told her they couldn't do anything as it happened on private property. The owners were a young couple with kids and 2 other well behaved dogs.
  12. I think the fact we are letting Bent go must mean we are confident that Benteke will be with us next season Not so sure of that. Think regardless of whether Benteke goes or not, Bent just does not fit into the way Lambert wants us to play. Think the options are that Benteke stays and we bring in a back up player in the same mould or he goes and we replace him and bring in a back up. In both scenarios Bent goes.
  13. If he goes then I'd much rather he went abroad. Seeing him celebrating in a Spurs shirt would be vomit inducing.
  14. No way we'll get anything like that much, I'd guess at £3-4 million to get him off the books. Only reason I could see Dortmund would going for him would be to fill out their squad.
  15. Marcello Trotta, the guy who missed that penalty for Brentford the other week.

    Relegation

Villa fans seem to think that Wigan are in some great run of form just because they narrowly beat the Baggies the other day. Before that, they drew with Spurs, lost to Man City and West Ham and drew with QPR. If QPR can get a point and West Ham all three, there's no reason why Swansea can't get something from tonight.
  17. That's a link to the mobile site, so it would look odd if you are reading it on your computer. Here's how it should look: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/mar/27/birmingham-city-peter-pannu

    fear of flying?

I used to be a bit scared of flying until my fiancee past her driving test. After experiencing being a passenger in her car flying seems like the safest thing in the world.
  19. Phones4u are currently doing the Galaxy S3 for £20.50 a month with 200 mins and unlimited texts. Alternatively if you can afford the money outright, buy the nexus 4 for £239 and get the £6.90 sim only deal from three which would work out £16.90 a month over a 24 month period.
  20. Still going in early June? Am going next month for my stag do so will report back.
  21. the pitot tubes gave a false reading but the crew never understood that they were stalling and consequently never applied a recovery maneuver .. I'm not sure he was inexperienced as such , it' just that pilots are not trained to manually fly aircraft anymore and rely on their instruments too much .... saying that the tubes have failed on dozens of other flights but the pilots have always retrieved the situation There was also the Toronto crash which was pretty much solely down to the co-pilot.
  22. Best Qatar and then Emirates. Worst long haul I've flown with are American who still run B757s between Manchester and JFK without personal screens in the back of seats and on demand TV.

    A week in Tokyo

heretic I just found it more charming that Tokyo .. the golden pavilion ,Todajji temple , imperial palace .. the wooden houses on the cobble streets ..not to mention the fresh air mind you we spent half a day in Narita before the flight and I thought that was a charming place as well and better than Tokyo Tokyo has the palace area and we went to a temple / park / market type area but in the main I guess what i'm saying is a lot of Tokyo could be anywhere , neon lights , Starbucks etc ..where as Koyto and Narita are very clearly Japan and a bit more unique .. which was why I preferred Koyto , but I don't have a reference of places like Takayama to work with I think my expectations were a little too high. I think I was expecting it to be a bit smaller and less of a functioning city. In my head I was expecting to see geishas on every corner. I still enjoyed it, but it wasn't quite what I had expected.

    A week in Tokyo

We stayed in Ikebukuro which is a bit of business district however we got a great deal with the hotel when booking through Expedia and got our room upgraded when we arrived too. As Tony mentioned, it's well worth getting the bullet train and if you fancy stopping off at a couple places then the Japan Rail Pass is well worth it, even if it is a bit of a faff booking all of your train journeys when very few people speak much English. In Tokyo then I recommend going out to Harajuku and Shibuya on Sundays, it's an interesting experience to say the least. If you do venture out of Tokyo then I strongly recommend Takayama which is up in the Japanese Alps, the train journey there is amazing. We also went to Kyoto, which I was slightly underwhelmed with, Osaka which was a bit more laid back than Tokyo and Hiroshima which, as you can imagine, had a very sombre atmosphere, but strangely was probably the nicest looking city we visited while we were there.
