  1. So MS have just announced that ALL (3 of them lolololol) of their first party games will release on Game Pass the same day that they release globally. So future Forza, Halo, Gears will be on there, and this years Sea of Thieves, Crackdown and State of Decay. Pretty ballsy but very good move by MS I think. Suddenly a pretty good service for £7 a month or whatever it is. Tempted to now get it, anyone else? 2. The Outer Worlds is out now and is the spiritual successor to Fallout New Vegas but in a futuristic Sci-Fi setting. If you've followed coverage of the game, then you probably have heard every outlet and game review mention this but it's still worth emphasising because since New Vegas, there haven't been a lot of RPGs like it and New Vegas is almost ten years old. I've had a ton of fun playing it so far. Its refreshing to play a game that is clearly made to be the best game possible and not a vehicle to entice you to spend extra money on cosmetics and upgrades. In fact, at the time of posting there are no micro-transactions. There are also very few bugs. I've had one game crash and one incident of very slow "pop-in" and that's about it (ps4 pro for reference). It certainly puts other bigger studios to shame in this regard. The game is at it's best when you are exploring every nook and cranny to uncover the true narrative of what is happening in the world. It also has tonnes of NPCs with interesting dialogue options and side quests. Choices I've had to make so far have been tough ones and they do seem to have an impact on the world. It isn't, however, a looter-shooter. I'm 15 hours in and combat has been brief and simple. It's still satisfying to craft an overpowered weapon and make short work of enemies, but it lacks the horror element of say Fallout 3, where, at the start of the game you felt very vulnerable and each encounter was tense. I've already thinking of a genocide run on the hardest setting for my next playthough to alleviate this. Overall I would say it's very much worth your time and I really hope it's a commercial success. Single player games of this type are few and far between if you're not into Souls-like games and if it does well, it may encourage other smaller studios to follow suit.
  3. So anyone got the new FIFA? Have to say, it's very much improved! Nothing revolutionary has changed, but it feels like older FIFA's.. they've kinda brought the arcady-ness back to it which also brings back a lot of fun. I'm a big fan of it so far.
  4. Rumours seem to suggest Microsoft will make some sort of announcement about this this week. I shan't hold my breath but it'll certainly be interesting if they do. They completely **** up with the Xbox One, lessons learnt? Will they manage to actually get the message on point after the disastrous mudding last year at E3? Will be obscenely priced? Etc etc.
  5. Anyone playing the PES 2018 online beta? First time playing PES, usually a FIFA player and i'm liking it . The thing that has drawn me to PES this year is the fact that they are introducing ranked 2v2 (about time!), and ranked 3v3. You can create clans and stuff so that should be cool. I feel like the physics are better in FIFA, it's really hard to judge the flight of the ball when it's in the air. But the passing is much better on PES and feels less "assisted". Defending i'm uncertain about, it seems there's a bit of an issue with getting a player like Neymar for example, and just running through everyone. A lot of goals are scored this way. Dunno if it's just FIFA noobs like myself not knowing what they are doing. There is an element of "randomness" to PES which i'm not sure if I like. Will definitely be buying this year and giving it a go instead of FIFA.
  6. Curious to know what the split is likely to be with regards to the next gen of games consoles.
  7. Looks like the new f1 2013 game will be vastly improved. You'll be able to use older cars from the 1980s and on. The penalty system will be improved (most aggravating part of f1 2012), you can also race on old tracks like imola and circuit Jerez. They say the handling will also be improved for a more realistic car feel. What do you all think?
