  1. An egg should not be on a burger. Close the thread.
  2. why the surprise, Southgate has always picked him when hes in form.
  3. id like to see him get a bit more time, i think he will need to prove that he can be trusted a little more in the defensive parts of the game for that to happen. I suspect thats holding him back from getting minutes.
  4. It's is very hard but that's why only the very best make it through the academy system into the first team. Ramsey and Grealish both managed it, arguably it's harder for a forward as you're typically competing for one or two spaces and are judged on output. He will either need to score in those 5-10 minutes cameos or go through the loan system and score a hatfull.
  5. id be a bit disappointed if we signed another left back. We cant change every position and that one feels ok to me.
  6. Really, I thought chambers was excellent. Lots of energy and won a lot of tackles. He's no kamara but I really don't think the performance dropped today.
  7. Excellent write up and points well made. We were good enough today, not pretty but I think confident that we were better and no risks required. Really happy with the belief and commitment from the players. Hard to pick out anyone not performing.
  8. Southgate has picked him whenever he's been in form. I'd be shocked if he wasn't in.
  9. Gutted he didn't score to top off another great performance. Excellent relationship with cash and rarely loses the ball.
  10. I still worry about his maturity. Taking that shot on rather than holding the ball up or finding a team mate. Nice to see him get the minutes though and I do think he looks a talent.
  11. Putting on Buses is an easy thing to say but a difficult thing to implement. For only the extra 10k fans this would need villa to find c200 buses lying around that arent already being used on a match day. This is where I think encouraging fans to arrive early and stay late is key. Look at how many fans head to the exits early.
  12. Thats the beauty of the spurs stadium. The surrounding area is a dump but you no longer spend any time in it. You move from the train into the spurs complex and spend your entire time there. Food/drink and plenty of meeting space is all catered for. The downside is it does very little for the surrounding areas. Villa Park needs to learn from this. I've friend whos a local policemen and he will always discourage me from spending time near to the ground outside of matchday. Hes shared several stories of knives and guns being recovered within proximity to the ground. Making villa park feel safe for families in the future is something else that needs to be considered when increasing commercial value.
  13. i agree, the goal has to be making villa park a location used more than 20 times a year. We need to compete with areas like the NEC/NIA (whatever either is now called) and WWE and sporting events are a big part of that. The big challenge is probably transport, im still interested to hear how an additional 10k are going to get to the ground on a match day. The same restriction would exist for non football events i assume.
  14. i was also coming to post this. Spurs have absolutely nailed the commercial model for football clubs. Its no longer enough to have people visit your stadium 19 times a year. Villa are a long way behind the group that were trying to emulate.
  15. i love the attitude of no draws and we should be set up nicely for another win. From day 1 it was described as a lifeless pitch. My only concern is that ill be tempted to try and watch it through to the end rather than sleep.
  16. I thought the weekend game was his best in a long time. Looked better defensively and if it werent for a great Pickford save he'd have walked away with an assist.
  17. The only controversial bit is the selling. Would make much more sense to bring in Guendouzi and keep Ramsey as well
  18. I think no minutes for Duran are because of the position in the game. He's been useful for injecting energy but he also showed some immaturity against Arsenal particularly over his missed chances. At one nil you need to be sound defensively and decisive when a chance comes. He needs to earn the right to be used at those moments.
  19. To be fair, Southgate has picked him ever time he's been in form. I think he's a very Southgate kind of player.
  20. But we're probably a loss closer at the point of the last election. My large mistrust of politicians is their inability find middle ground.
  21. Starmer is a tory, those 5 missions all but confirm it. Also might explain the rise in popularity. Time to accept that the majority of the country are aligned to more traditional tory principles than labour ones. If you want to be in power, be somewhere towards the middle.
  22. I agree, Arsenal chased him over the summer for one reason, he is quality. I like the look of kamara but that's more about potential. Luiz has played a lot of games for us over the last few years, a steal at the 15m we paid for him.
  23. Very raw and maybe too emotional. Made a couple of mistakes and you could see it got to him. Mcginn had to speak with him and make sure he got his head back in the game. When arsenal scored he was sat in the centre circle with his shirt over his head.
  24. currently not many areas other than the Holte could accomodate such an attempt. The Holte Suite allows this so assume its either make it work in the Holte or dont bother. Of course its just a thought provoking survey by an external party, the club may not be interested at all.
  25. im assuming some of these changes that are being considered are to help them make up for the revenue gap while the North Stand is shut.
