  1. The speed that this club does business continues to impress. Purslow finally doing something to pay us back for the Gerrard debacle.
  2. I'd love to see Mcginn get a run out, the chance to play in a confident team. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt, he was one of 11 dreadful players under Gerrard
  3. Red card was rescinded. Presumably by the same people that told Oliver to send him off
  4. Dendonker has been everywhere, this team has been crying out for two defensively solid central midfielders for so long. Shocking that Gerrard ignored this.
  5. Hunting in packs, great to see the press. Dendonker also looking immense, not sure he's got 90 minutes of this in him.
  6. The sad truth of politics. Parties will always put themselves before the greater good. This is true of both conservative and labour in my experience. Else they would on occasion find middle ground. Has a snap election ever been called for a reason other than to capitalise on a majority from the incumbent party?
  7. When other clubs resort to these caretaker managers, I see them go on long unbeaten runs that bring the club and fans together. Can we just have one of those please.
  8. Luiz and Dendonker more likely?
  9. Different or not, still a pointless question. They won't allow a GE, no one would in that position.
  10. The media narrative of constantly giving air time to opposition party members asking for a GE is so boring. Every member of an opposition will always want a GE and absolutely no one in power right now would grant one. It's a waste of air time and it could be much better spending detabing and highlight issues that are impacting people.
  11. Surely the dip is because people don't know who they would be voting for. Some people vote blindly for parties and some are swayed by the candidate. Right now their is no candidate.
  12. What makes you think that? Dyche has achieve more than Dean Smith, Gerrard, Thomas franks and many of those listed. He did it with a tiny budget, who is to say he can't do more with the resources villa have. He'd also have a voice and would call out the bollox that goes on behind the scenes at villa. Were all nervous about the football being poor but target him to bring goals and a style of play. Things that were not possible with the money he had to spend at Burnley. We all loved Smith because we could identify with him, I see similar in Dyche.
  13. Agree, tell him he needs to play attractive football. I don't think we can judge his football on a single spell at an under resourced club.
  14. Dyche for me (because I don't think we can get a poch etc). Decent bloke, would get more out of the players we've got and steer us away from relegation. Interested to see what he does at a club with money where he doesn't have to stick everyone behind the ball.
  15. I think the Gerrard signing was planned for a while, even executed during an international break to give as much time as possible for him to settle. It was just a shit plan.
  16. Just keep playing him, got in great positions today, will score goals. Just needs a run of games.
  17. No I don't think so, doesn't change my thoughts though. I don't like the bloke either but today was about mistakes. We were setup correctly in the first half, all accounts say we have Chelsea a really tough time but we gifted them a goal and didn't score, again.
  18. Boos at the end in the lower holte but very few joining in with chants of "we want Gerrard out". How was it elsewhere? I don't think the crowd have turned yet, I think he will get the next two games.
  19. Struggling to blame Gerrard for today, he got the tactics spot on I thought but was let down by individual errors and poor finishing.
  20. Would love to see us build on the recent improvements and take the 3 points. Cash should be back and im expecting Emi to slot in with Coutinho. Id have liked Ings to get a good run out but i cant see SG dropping Watkins away from home, he offers too much defending from the front. A win puts us in the top half, unbeaten in 4, that a million miles from where we were.
  21. Would take a draw. Be great to keep the unbeaten run going.
  22. I'm glad we haven't thrown archer in to the first team, he deserves better than that. I want him to get his opportunity in a side that is leading from the front, creating lots of opportunities with a crowd that are right behind him.
  23. Won't be popular but if we can't get a big name, I'd like to see someone like Dyche. Honest guy who hugely over achieved with that Burnley squad, even taking them to Europe. I'd want to see a better style of football than the one achieved at Burney and I'd want to see a more diverse group of players, not replying on ageing English pros. Both of these things I think we're more forced on him by lack of resources.
