  1. You can't blame the player selection, we were pretty much full strength when we conceded.
  2. I hope we don't tweak much. I'd like to see a settled ish back 4 maybe rest Digne and one of the centra halves. Dendonker should start plus Coutinho, Ramsey and Ings. Other than that I'd rather start strong and bring others on.
  3. I dont see him back at villa but i was a fan, he had the best attacking relationship with Cash of any of our wingers. Bailey and Cash dont seem to have any chemistry at all. Unfortunately Bert didnt help the defensive side of Cashs game.
  4. this though id replace Kamara with JPA (in that one season), Benteke would have also ran us close or maybe even Ugo.
  5. good move, should have gone at the start of the season. We cant afford to give him the game time, he needs to be playing and starting at his age.
  6. Everyone see's things differently, I thought last night that Mings often slowed down the play but I now wonder if it was more to do with Digne. It was clear early on that the Wolves midfield 3 were going to block anything through the middle of the pitch to Luiz and Kamara. This meant Mings often had to go to Digne who just kept giving him the ball back.
  7. Agree, double figures minimum, I think we'd all be comfortable and 12-15.
  8. goals should maybe expected of Dougie and Kamara as well, i think Dougie had 3 shots against Spurs including his run forwards for the goal. Like a lot of others id love Watkins to be prolific on top of his work rate but he isnt, and if he was he'd probably be playing his football elsewhere by now.
  9. Absolutely brilliant today at everything except scoring goals.
  10. Great player to be able to bring on, some great link up with Watkins, would like to see him get a run out on Wednesday.
  11. I quite like the idea that the club are honest about the fact that Emi might leave and are considering options. I was sort of hoping we might do this type of thing with all positions. Fingers crossed he doesn't leave and Unai wants him as number 1.
  12. I can understand the concern but realistically, how many clubs would really try and buy Emi. A great keeper we all know but: 1. He's 30 so a few years left at the top level. 2. A top club needs to have a spot, many have keepers. 3. A club needs to pay what we think he's worth (given the above, bids are probably around the 20m mark and I don't see us selling for that).
  13. I reckon he plays boxing day. I think if he'd have lost he would have needed the break to get over it.
  14. God performance. Nice to see us still trying to play out from the back, Ollie looking in good form to me as well. A good performance for Unai to build on.
  15. Yes he can, Wales need to win 4 nil, were pretty much guaranteed. I think everyone is over reacting. In every tournament you may need to take risks to win a game in my opinion you don't take risks in the group stages, you do it during the knock outs. Look at all the best tournament teams over the years, they probably make the same decisions as Southgate did last night. I should clarify, I'd love us to be a better team and more attacking, I just don't think last night was the right time for it.
  16. I thought tonight showed why he has such a strong record in international tournaments. A draw all but guaranteed group qualification. He resisted the urge to chase the win that would have been nice but ultimately not necessary.
  17. I remember Unai saying the players would get a week off. Seems fair to me.
  18. I assume his "now averaging" means that Preece has looked back a certain number of games but not the entire season. Probably enough games to best suit his argument.
  19. Would love Saha. High standards, very good professional, one of those players you hate if he's not yours.
  20. I was probably responding to the rumours, if we have chance to cut losses now then what do we do. Do we hope Emery gets him back to his best or trade in while we have an opportunity. Of course I could leave all of this to Emery but I'm pretty bored and it's an internet forum designed for these types of conversations.
  21. I'm torn on this one, I've seen the poor performances but I've also seen him impact a game in ways that no other player (maybe Jack excluded). His highs are bigger than Buendias, the lack of consistency, particularly away from home makes you question him. If Emery can get last seasons Coutinho, we'd be fools to let him go
  22. Not sure I agree, see Dougie's reaction to the second Ings goal. He's right in McAllisters face celebrating. That mistake hurt. I like his confidence, I think if he's becomes too risk averse he wouldn't be the same player.
  23. I couldnt understand why SG wasnt playing them together earlier, they seemed to be an obvious fit together
  24. Were a bit dirty, its good to see, lots more game management, time wasting and some good technical fouls to slow the game. Oddly i saw Leon Bailey has 4, not a dirty player. We got 7 at the weekend, i heard that this was our record ever.
  25. I think Brightons goal was fine and the pen should have been given. I think its funny that it wasnt and im pretty happy with the result.
