I think Brightons goal was fine and the pen should have been given. I think its funny that it wasnt and im pretty happy with the result.
-
3rd game (including one with 7 changes i believe), hes had a handful of minutes. Im so far not seeing evidence that Emery is a fan.

I agree, I'd expect us to move on a central midfielders to bring in another. It could be Luiz (most sellable), Sanson (not playing but struggled to find suitors), Mcginn (getting minutes, not fancies by the fan base)

I actually think we're better in games where we concede more of the ball. I'm interested to see how Unai sets us up against a Bournemouth where we need to break down ten men. I fancy us to get something against spuds and Liverpool

Another week where he didn't get off the bench. Not looking to point score but I'm not really seeing evidence that he rates Sanson.

The main challenge is that villa is a once in a fortnight venue, old Trafford justifies the investment on most days of the week.
-
Are we sure he likes Sanson, he's given Mcginn more minutes in both games so far.

Wow, a shocker. I'd blame him for 3 of the goals
-
Not sure the point, I don't think they are comparable players. I would expect Ramsey to be ahead of Gordon, I just don't think Ramsey has done enough for a world cup call up, he was dropped for villa two games ago. Were talking about players like Maddison not going, its a tough position with a lot of quality ahead of him.
-
none of those players should go. Ramsey also shouldnt go, it was a good performance and hes definitely on the radar but will need to do more consistently to get the nod. Im confident he was on the 55. I think hes much more a Southgate player than Grealish ever was.

I'm also in the "I don't get it" camp. I was pleased to see him yesterday as it means we may see him again. But I've never seen a performance from him that makes me want to see lots more, or lots less for that matter. He just hasn't had enough chances. I found it odd that some people commented on his performance yesterday, he got a handful of minutes, literally no time for any conclusions. So I'm happy he's back in the thinking so I can start to form an opinion.

Interesting how many times he was the outlet from Martinez today and then found a ball into central midfield. Looked like something that had been worked on. I also noticed that Digne and Cash were involved in the attacking warm ups before the game. So often the were separated off with the back 4, now they are practicing whipping on shots. A sign of great things to come I hope.

I'd think it's maybe too soon for a Kamara start, I'd rather see hi get a half and be fit for Brighton.

Just back from watching Cheltenham Vs MK Dons, my first chance to watch Louie Barry upclose. Physically you can certainly see how he's developed, no longer looks a small boy. Barry played on the left of a front 3 in what was a pretty poor game all around. He started and was subbed off after 65 ish minutes I think. It was a poor game between two sides close to the bottom of league 1 and I can't recall any decent shooting opportunities for Barry. In the first half he ran at a defender in the box and good have earned a pen, In the second half he did break from half way and looked like he was going to get 1 on 1 with the keeper but Cheltenham got back and he was tackled without getting a shot away. Away from the goal he was quite tidy, dropping deep a few times to help link the play before breaking and looking for a ball over the top. The quality at this level rarely delivers that ball though. I'd have probably given him 6 out of 10. Carried on working hard but no real chance to shine. Didn't stand out as the player we'd all love him to become but getting valuable minutes.

Parenting Corner: The joys and trials of raising little Villans

I think both our kids were about 3 when they dropped theirs. In both cases blackmail was used at it worked very effectively. I hated them but they were a godsend when trying to get them both to sleep as babies, don't regret it one bit. -

It's a great example but it's nearly 50 years ago. In reference to Starmers party before country comment, my point was specifically about modern day politicians. Everything I see suggests they are all party before country, Heath feels very much the exception. -

I think that's the beauty of 111, you don't feel so bad about ringing. Call them up and talk it through, it's what they are there for. I did lots of doctors visits with my first kid, often good to get the reassurance that nothing was wrong. Probably got a bit too relaxed by the time the second came around. -

My son had appendicitis age 6. I still feel bad for telling him to just get up before finally realising he couldn't walk because of the pain. A very rubbish 48 hours in hospital followed before they ripped his appendix out. From what I recall they can tell pretty quickly from a urine test. -

I don't quite follow it to be honest, aren't all politicians party before country? Else surely they would find some middle ground every now and then. -
Young's performance mean he should keep his place, only reservation is he's played a lot for someone of his age. The experts will know but I'd expect him to get a rest soon.
-
Interesting, he's the one that most of my non villa supporting friends pick out as our best player. His goal return is decent for his age, I wonder where he quite fits in our team though
-
Can't wait to see what Emery can do with him, build your team around your best players, on talent alone he overly qualifies.

We use a dehumidifier to help dry the washing. Was a decent investment but significantly cheaper to run than a tumble dryer. We stick all the washing in a small room and most will dry in half a day or less.

If a third manager doesn't pick him, I think it's time to move on.

Of course the CEO was involved. If he wasnt he's not the CEO anymore. Silly suggestion by people on this board.
