  1. We've got 30k season ticket holders, 3 out of ever 4 seats pretty much. Certainly no room for random away fans, doesn't happen anymore
  2. i said to a friend yesterday, i wouldnt pay those prices to sit in the North Stand, i just think the quality of seating and facilities are far below the standard. The price increases there feel a lot like a deliberate play to reduce season tickets in the North Stand and stop a problem emerging when they knock it down.
  3. yeah, i lost track a bit last season because we lost the lower price bands that i was in, and i then moved seats and now 15% on top. To go from £440 for both to over a grand in two years is a bit crazy i think. Ive renewed now, next season would be much harder to justify as we probably missed a good few games. If we do make Europe, im not sure how many Sundays I would make.
  4. I don't really know if he's the worst keeper we've ever had. But I do not that I've never seen a keeper at villa that the fans and players have so little confidence in.
  5. Renewed. L3 lower Holte, my adult seat and under 14s seat came to £1034. I think I paid £440 for both 2 seasons ago.
  6. I can see myself using this a few times if it becomes open to lower Holte over time. I'm often trying to meet friends that have travelled and it's good to have a place to do that. Not convinced id always be paying £25 to stand outside though, especially in the winter.
  7. ive been to a few games and sadly i would say it is pretty much the standard for all clubs to achieve. Theyve done a great job of capturing all of the match day revenue. Arrive early, so many places to meet and congregate. Good quality food and drink available easily, merchandise available easily, full exploitation of the family and tourist. As a percentage they hold a lot less season tickets than us. This means that c40% of the ground are paying full ticket prices (which are more than ours). At Villa, i suspect thats less than 20%.
  8. Every time ive gone to use the resell, it just hasnt worked for me. I also need to ring separately for my sons ticket as you cant do it online. They really need to improve the online offering. im really tempted to consider joining a supporters club, just to make the swapping around of tickets easier. A friend of mine is in a spurs one (god knows why). Someone on the bus co-ordinates the resell of tickets, all prices are agreed at the start of the year regardless of game (i think its a flat £50). Tickets get collected in a re-distributed. I worry that if we do make Europe, ill barely be able to make half the games, ive justified that in the past because of the low price. It would probably make me really consider keeping my ST.
  9. i think the club could offer better options here. The ticket resell isnt great as it means having to wait for the whole ground to sell first. Offering seasons tickets for groups of games could work, finding a way for fans to share season tickets formally would be another option. Ive probably passed on my tickets 3-4 times this season to friends and family, fortunately the lack of available seats in the Holte makes it very easy to do.
  10. and that narrative i completely agree with. This is a tough increase, particularly after last seasons increases. and we should debate whether its fair. I just dont think its right to draw parallels with destitution as some people have. This is a tough increase, but its an increase forced on people already choosing to spend probably thousands of pounds following a football team. For the record, i have an ST with my son, pay for both and i dont like it either.
  11. I think his first touch, which was a really difficult one to take meant he was stretching. He should probably have hit the target, I don't personally think it was the easiest purely because of how he'd had to control it.
  12. I'm sorry but I struggle with the barely able to eat narrative here. This is the season ticket thread, If you're destitute you're surely not committing to 20 games a season of premier league football. The increases are tough absolutely and no one likes them. Unfortunately most will still pay and I think most consider it good value still.
  13. But we're still talking about people who can afford a season ticket. Those aren't typically people on the bread line. I think the club has over sold season tickets. They now lose the increased revenue they would generate for premium games. Maybe part season tickets would be a better approach. Sell blocks of tickets to non premium games and a higher prices for the premium ones.
  14. I've not been able to buy an away ticket since the £30 maximum was introduced. I rely on the ballot every week unsuccessfully. Low prices are great for a loyal and committed group of fans, they can seemingly exclude others not lucky enough to attend every week. The same is also true for home games. It's pretty much impossible now to sit in the Holte if you are not a season ticket holder, I'm lucky enough to be one. I'll never be one to advocate higher prices but think it's important to also show that they bring some benefits.
  15. The injuries are killing us a bit. Cash, Bailey, Coutinho, Kamara would all have played a part today, either from the start or as subs to try and influence the game. All in all another good away performance, only 2 sides have won at Brentford this season.
  16. Outplayed feels harsh , maybe edged but it was a poor half for chances.
  17. Negotiate a bit just in case, see if you can push your pal to 25m and a buy back clause
  18. At 3 nil it felt like the right time to give him some minutes. As others have said, I assume he really isn't ready and is more of a bench warmer at the moment.
  19. Other than a crazy minute against Stevenage. He's pulled out these performances in every game for us. Never flashy, does exactly what is asked of him and a very solid sub. He's not going to come on and change a game, but he will give others the change to do that around him.
  20. My points remain. I'm not sure the numbers are significant enough for it to be the reason we haven't seen a female or BAME leader.
  21. Really, by my count both parties have had 5 or 6 leaders during that time. Not really much in it. I'm not convinced the classic labour supporting base would elect a female I'm afraid.
  22. I'm predicting a boring nil nil. Think it would suit both sides, can see Emery and Howe both trying to stop each other and it killing the game. Wouldn't be upset
