  1. Still been taking an interest in his recovery. I noticed he joined in the pre game warm up yesterday with other players for the first time but not the whole warm up and was still about 10-15 minutes later than everyone else coming onto the pitch. He was out at half time as well having missed previous weeks and warmed up on the side of the pitch a few times. I think he's still a long way from being involved and it will probably only come if forced by injuries etc.
  2. It will certainly be the toughest team faced in our 7 game run have they just won 5 in a row? I think Howe will set them up to contain us, he'll be aware of our threat and I suspect it will be a really boring game. I wouldn't be surprised if they dont press and try and draw Mings and Konsa to the half way line to create the room behind.
  3. This was a fine strategy until they conceded. Up until that point a draw suited them and they knew we would eventually have to take risks. That shelvey pass really cost them.
  4. Forest did a good job of blocking the pass into Mcginn and Luiz. In the second half you could see Mings take a bit more risk and start to run the ball into their half. Great to see his game improving.
  5. Surely Brentford and Fulham are dream fixtures now. Both by then will have nothing left to play for
  6. I thought this as well, at one point I noticed his starting position was level with Bailey's. He basically plays in a back 4 or front 3, he's never in midfield. Hes amazing for our system as he just allows us to overload so many areas of the pitch. I really wouldn't be surprised to see Konsa at right back next year and us shifting to a back 3 out of possession.
  7. Just back from the game, certainly not our best performance. We made it very difficult for ourselves, especially the amount of crosses we allowed into the box. The midfield seemed to play a bit higher to me, maybe because of how deep we were expecting forest to be, even Dougie not dropping to collect the ball much. I actually though we looked better with Dendonker on allowing Mcginn to get further forward. Despite his goal, Traore not great, I think his first 4 or 5 touches he put the ball out of play or was offisde needlessly. I think we did enough and it's hard to tell if we had other gears today as we scored so early in the second half. Our best chances came from the left with Moreno playing very high. Was a boring game but another 3 points, this is becoming the Emery way.
  8. I would say the toughest position to break into are keeper and centre forward. You're competing for pretty much one slot and when you get a shot you're measured on what you concede or what you score. I'd keen Archer out on loan, particularly if Boro come up and want to keep him. It wouldn't surprise me though if he gets less minutes behind Akpom as Boro adjust a bit and play more defensively. All of this is great experience. No rush for him at all
  9. I think Chelsea have progressed more players into the first team in recent year than we have. They've also sold a lot for a lot of money. Not a bad model to follow
  10. Just register and complete a self assessment form. You can just register the other payment and pay the tax on it. No drama
  11. I only think he's done because of his fit record. I think he's on his third injury since joining and I'm not sure he's ever completed 90 minutes. After every injury he takes 3-4 weeks to get back to speed.
  12. I've no issue with it is the moaning is aimed at themselves. Barkley always seemed frustrated at his own performance when being subbed, not at Deano for subbing him. Id have been more annoyed if he wasn't bothered when he was playing shit
  13. This isn't really true. About 70 percent of the money in banks is owned by about 2 percent of that banks custome base. If those people took 20 percent of their money than a bank might struggle. These people won't do that though because a) they like earning interest b) most of this money is in fixed term accounts c) the millions of pounds held in cash wouldn't be protected and you'd feel a bit silly having it lay around.
  14. im not sure we should throw him into Newcastle cold
  15. cant help feel like he was rushed back, would rather intro him slowly.
  16. i thought the same, he was my man of the match. Add in the context of Kamara missing and hes having to do a lot more than is normally expected.
  17. Like many others, I get frustrated by him but he does offer much more to the team that we probably appreciate. When he plays wide right, you will often find him with 2 defenders which creates space for Ollie. We could help him more with an overlapping defender, this creates space for him to come inside (we don't have a Moreno equivalent). He works hard defensively, we rarely talk about him losing his man. He does create chances, tonight I recall him cutting inside and then finding Mcginn. He seems to be a great fit in the team, not the ego many suggest.
  18. Will be a tougher game than were all thinking, let's keep the unbeaten run going and hopefully we can take some chances.
  19. It's great to see the improvement in Ollie's confidence, he didn't let the early miss effect him.
  20. And defenders often top these stats because they are chasing. Running in a straight line without the ball so just an all out sprint. They are a pointless stat as you say because they are inevitably won by a defender sprinting back from the half way line covering a mistake.
  21. I really like Bristol as a City, I also quite liked Sheffield when recently visited. If I had to live in a city it's probably London though, I spent a good few years working there mid week and loved the energy and options. Not sure I could live in a city now though so if I left the Cheltenham area, it would likely be for the cornish coast.
  22. I don't think Chelsea pay the big bucks we all think they do. All of these winter arrivals im told are typically on 90-100k. Not the mega money you might expect
  23. I don't doubt Emery's ability to get him firing, I do doubt Coutinhos ability to stay fit for a season. I don't know if he's played 90 minutes for us yet and my feeling is he's had 3 injuries since joining, typically we lose him for a month. Unfortunately I'd cut losses if given the chance. A great talent but I think his body seems to have given up.
  24. you can also pay the early repayment charge and exit your fix when ever you want. A lot of people were doing this about 9 months ago when interest rates started to rise and offers were being pulled by lenders. A lot of banks will wave the ERC if you are moving to another fix with them. Its all about weighing up what you are paying, what you are likely to move to and a finger in the air for what the markets and banks might do between now and then.
