Here's a few that started with a bang.

Aphex Twin - 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92'

The Meters - 'The Meters'

Bobbie Gentry - 'Ode To Billy Joe'

Os Mutantes - 'Os Mutantes'

Royksopp - 'Melody AM'

Faust - 'Faust'

Captain Beyond - 'Captain Beyond'

Tasavallan Presidentti - 'Tasavallan Presidentti"

Terry Callier - 'The New Folk Sound Of Terry Callier'

Nucleus - 'Elastic Rock'

Pharcyde - 'Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde'

Main Source - 'Breaking Atoms'

UNKLE - 'Psyence Fiction'

Portishead - 'Dummy'

The Prodigy - 'Experience'

King Tubby - 'Dub From The Roots'

One relatively obscure one - J.D. Blackfoot - 'The Ultimate Prophecy'

It didn't influence much :)

Very nice list - forget some of those were debuts. Dummy and Selected Ambient Works especially, stone cold classics.

Movement - New Order .

Now there's an album, very probably my favourite NO album but what did it change? nothing. Did it influence anything? no it probably didn't. It's the only NO album I still listen to from beginning to end, it is a good album... but in reality it is just that. Later NO material was hugely influential and did change an awful lot of perceptions about what is possible but Movement is kind of like a dirty secret, it is the transition album between JD and NO but that is it, its an historical document but that is all it is. Doesn't deserve to be in this list imo and it is a favourite album of mine.

What you don’t rate Waiting for the sirens call?

Anyway movement is a good album, but a patchy one, like all NO albums imo. Nice cover mind....

Yeah the music gets a big thumbs up from me as well , played it to death when it came out , will dig it out again and see if it still has the ability to "blow me away "

Afraid to say I am not a fan of Arctic Monkeys, well.. I have their first album, but they just don't appeal to me. Seen them 3 times and I just don't really enjoy them.

Anyway...

Fuzzy Logic? - SFA

Star of love? - Crystal Fighters

A few others

Please describe yourself - Dogs die in hot cars

Clor - Clor

It's one I often go back to after an absence and it always sounds amazing.  Such a good groove, Nutter is a very underrated geet player imo!

Should supergroups, especially in cases like Audioslave where a majority of the band constituted a majority of a previous band or also in cases where the basic idea is only to do one album and be done with it, be eligible for this thread?

yeah, another shout for The Music - it's relegated to the secret stash out the garage now (keeps the visible pile of cd cases below the serious problem threshold)

SFA Fuzzy Logic is massively impressive

As for supergroups, bring them on!

I'm amazed Bicks hasn't mentioned Wings yet!
