kurtsimonw
Eljero Elia is absolute garbage. Trust me. He was good in the Eredivisie and for a little bit at Hamburg. He's just another N'Zogbia. and that's probably being a little harsh on Zog.
Tomaszk
Stevie D captained them against Palace.
Xela
They're still doing very well.. recovered from a bad run and back in the top 4. There was suggestions that they may drop like a stone and they were no better than us... I think that can be put to bed now.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Need to strengthen their squad or they'll do what we did for years and fizzle out around March.
Xela
True, I think Koeman will be looking to strengthen and he seems to have a decent eye for a player

VillaChris
Top 6 and 60 points I'd suggest so similar to our level under MON.
rodders0223
Their team looks jaded. A few injuries have exposed the lack of squad depth. Not really,They just weren't very good to begin with. That's why they say form is temporary. Not very good and apparently we have a better squad than them. Lightyears ahead of us.

Agreed although they haven't spent about £140m and have one of the highest wage budgets in the league and a completely unsustainable business model
villa89
Not very good and apparently we have a better squad than them. Lightyears ahead of us. I never said that they we have a better squad than them but they are better than I thought. I'd still be surprised to see them get over 60 points. If they do then fair play to them and Koeman, even if he's an arsehole. As for them being light years ahead of us, they aren't. They just spend some money and we don't. Probably would cost Randy £50m (net) to catch up in the summer and there's no way we'll spend anything like that. Also I'd be shocked if Southampton didn't have to sell off more players next summer, E,g Schderlien, Bertrand (on loan?), Clyne may all leave. That model will catch up with them very soon. villa89
Like they had to sell Lallana, Lovren, Shaw and Lambert? That's my point. They managed to replace those players last summer but you can't keep selling your best players and then replacing them with cheaper players. No scouting system is good enough to keep doing that IMO. rodders0223
Just gone to OT and won, our squad is better though and they are indeed not a very good team.
PaulC
Thoroughly deserved as well. They really should have beaten them at Southampton as well. The luck United were getting in games has now gone and they look very ordinary.
VillaChris
The key is Schnderlein, he just knits everything together in the centre although Ward-Prowse and Wanyama also had great games today. Their form did tail off when he missed a few games before xmas.
PaulC
Yes our old lad isn't doing too badly either. Another player we let get away!

KJT123
Anyone else get a little sad when they see what a club like Southampton are doing and then there's us not being able to string a pass together in the final third.

Annoyed rather than sad. I like to see teams like Southampton doing well, it goes to show that you don't need half a dozen £30m players in your team to be competitive.
