He’d get another PL side, maybe back to Leicester?

United would have to cut their losses and do a package to move him on. This is assuming they are serious about getting back to competing at the top.

They are so badly run though.

Compare what we did with Carney and what they did with Pogba. They should have sold him last year for £40-60m but instead he leaves for free (again).

Moving him Maguire on and paying up his contract is small change for them, but they are useless.

Isnt Maguire on 300k a week. That contract isnt moving

He has left but Pogba being Pogba is ignoring doctors advice to get an operation so he can recover naturally and play in the World Cup but risk hos career. Umtiti did same thing last World Cup and he has barely played in 4 years.

It depends how serious they are. They could have sold Lingard last year for £30m and used it to pay off Maguire. They could have took a big fee for Pogba too but didn’t.

The “we can’t afford to get rid of him” just doesn’t wash.

They are incompetent to the tune of tens of millions a season and the squad is going backwards.

In general football clubs are often run badly… but United have to be up there with the worst run clubs in world football?

Barcelona have a mountain of debt but at least have a good side and CL football to show for it.

The early signs are not good are they?

They seem to be absolutely clueless about getting out of the mess they’re in.

Already looking for Villa in the fixture list...

The problem is they have an expectant fanbase of crybabies so throw money at rubbish instead of trying to find a solution. No patience at all

McTominay, Maguire, Rashford for a start are not European level quality

They’ve only thrown money at one of those players - and, whilst it was a LOT of money, he was a good player at the time. Shadow of that player now.

The main thing seems to be that they don’t buy for a system or style of play. Using their rivals as an example, every Liverpool signing made in recent years has been to fit their system completely. Man Utd’s approach has been… chaotic.

100%, the similarities are glaring. Throw more and more money at it, change the manager and manage to get worse

Yerp exactly that. No clear plan of what to do or where to be in the future

We all laughed at arsenal but at least they have some idea on what they want to be

It might just be his style, but I thought Ten Hag looked absolutely lost. Seemed like his players didn't even listen when he tried to talk during a water break.

Again, might be his style, but I just thought he was a deer in headlights.

Wasn’t sure if you were talking about Villa or United at this point

Edit: Just noticed @LondonLaxmentioned that already
