That through ball from Delph was fantastic -- a little more match sharpness and I'm sure Benteke would have buried it. Sylla and Delph both looking lively. Just those that I noticed one way or the other. To me we should be playing mostly first teamers, with a sprinkling of youth players - seems to be the other way around - all seems a bit pointless tbh. Still, Donacien has done well, Sylla and Delph in patches too. Rest look rusty/average. Gardner's set-pieces are excellent but not convinced by his general play. theboyangel Posted July 23, 2013 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Hope Benteke hasn't tweaked his groin.... Bit of a drab 1st half really. Webb and Donacien have both acquited themselves well as has Baker. Herd always looks to hoof the ball. Sylla and Delph have looked bright, Gardner appears to be playing way too deep to have any attacking impact. Carruthers and Burke cannot make an impact and Benteke has looked pretty good considering he's just come back We're showing signs of decent play but missing a bit of quality all over the pitch really. Webb looking uncomfortable at LB, Donacien okay at RB but seems wary of going forward (understandably, isn't he a CB?), Delph and Benteke have shown a few great bits of skill.
