Things that piss you off that shouldn't

Rosie Jones, Comedian.  Firstly, I actually don’t find her very funny at all either doing stand up or whatever show she’s on.  However, I’ve no issue with anyone who likes her comedy, jokes or whatever.

What’s annoying is when people on a show she’s on or an audience almost fall over laughing hysterically every time she speaks?  It’s as though because of her disability, some people feel the need to over compensate.  It’s ok not to laugh at everything she says.

Live comedy shows are weird. If i've had a couple of drinks and i get into the show, i'll laugh at my pretty much everything because i WILL find it funny.

Even though if i had watched the same show on TV i wouldn't have found the same jokes funny.

I'm not sure if its because of contagion of being in the same room as others laughing, or because you're focused more on the comedian or just the live effect.

I do get that, I really do and I could be totally wrong but it’s as if people are over compensating or being false by over the top laughing every single time she speaks.  Just feels that way to me when she’s on any show now.

Like I say, nothing against her, it’s the way people act around her that I find annoying.

Live comedy is all about timing. She doesn't have it.

May well be a great comedy writer, but live shows and stand up? Nah.

This seems to be the case with most shows that have comedians on as regular guests. I find pretty much anything Jimmy Carr hosts unwatchable as he squeezes out fake laugh after fake laugh.

I rarely check Facebook nowadays, but I just have and it’s getting worse. Scrolling down my newsfeed;

  • Some meme page “suggested for you”
  • Disney+ “sponsored”
  • A news article “suggested for you”
  • Some more suggested groups to follow
  • A horror page “suggested for you”
  • Louis Vuitton “sponsored”
  • Some random reels and shorts
  • Sportsjoe.ie “suggested for you”
  • Worcester City Run “suggested for you”

It took me aaaages to finally get to what I was there for; someone I vaguely remember from school commenting on someone I don’t know’s photo of some kids I don’t know.

I play this game at work where I whistle an annoying tune and I win if someone else starts whistling it themselves, today I did Fantasy Football League and not only did nobody end up whistling it, I then got suggested a Fantasy Football League video on Facebook.  I swear they're listening in on me, there are too many coincidences of random shit turning up on there.

Does this mean you only get updates about Ross, Joey,  Phoebe,  Monica,  Chandler and the lovely Rachel?

I watched a video of vegas now I’m getting loads of videos of people playing slots.

The annoying thing is that these people aren’t really playing. The videos are youtubers who are sponsored by casinos and are playing on free play mode pretending to be all exciting about winning $250k from $2k spins that isn’t even real. What a waste of time.

Anyway, my gym opens at 8am and me and another bloke get there on the dot. We've somehow telepathically come to an understanding that we avoid each other as we do our routines, and it's working really well. This morning there was a third bloke who disrupted all this, and instead of working out draped his towl on the bench and sat for 20 minutes scrolling through his phone. Original bloke and I exchange glances but get on with it because I'm extremely British and passive aggressive.

I get that, it’s like you’ve bought your tickets and are going with the positive intention to have fun alongside loads of people in the same mood. It makes it much easier to laugh a lot.

Generally. There are exceptions.

I could watch Sarah Millican live, and on acid (me not her), and still not break a smile.

I appreciate he's making a good living from these 'impression' videos and some people find him funny but **** me, I'd rather be given the Ludovico Technique whilst watching a box set of Last of the Summer Wine.

Annoying rocket polisher.

To take this to another level, I’ve heard people imitating him in real life now :(

Most recently someone at work doing the massively irritating high pitched Gerrard “yeah course” crap. Thinking I’d be impressed being a Villa fan. What a rocket polisher.

Yeah I find her very irritating. I don’t think she’s funny at all and to be honest she’s quite hard to listen to, as bad as that sounds
