You have to look at the entire season, and I maintain he has looked like a very average striker over this season. Last season he got 6 goals in his first 20 premier league games and 13 in his last 15. So it depends which bit of the season you are looking at. He obviously didn't "fluke" either of those phases but we wait to see which represents the real Benteke and at the moment it's not looking too good. A hat trick tonight would help to calm our nerves! He is suffering from playing with mediocre players in a team using low brow tactict that makes him the team's only goal threat and thus the only player the opposition has to focus on. Last season he didn't just score the goals, he carried the team (along with Guzan) Yes he has not been very prolific this season but, in a better team he will shine again. He's quality and will once again score goals when he has better players around him. Don't think he has failed Villa this season, Villa have failed him. Teams are now defending the strike force knowing that the midfield cant do shit. Exactly this. ^^ This is why i believe a new manager would get more out of what we currently have at the moment and why any transfer funding available would be spent more wisely. It is so glaringly obvious that we need more width in the team and more quality crosses into the opposing team's box. Another decent winger in to compliment Albrighton with the proviso to tuck in when needed and play with two holding midfielders as we simply don't have anyone to help us play through teams.
