theunderstudy Posted July 20, 2013 Share Posted July 20, 2013 I'm still not happy with him. He handed in a transfer request and was seemingly advised (ill-advised) to force a move through to Spurs. So I'm happy that we won't lose his presence, but also I've lost my faith in him as a part of the club. Maybe his agent told him to hand in a transfer request to try and get a bigger contract? If he really wanted to leave, I imagine he would have not gone to training like Modric... He got the same deal he was allegedly offered before. So no change. An infinite amount of Benteke's couldn't down James Milner. It's just dawned on me I was one of the only people saying I thought he'd stay. The suits have obviously come from the lynx astronaut campaign from last year but I don't know if the stunt was done by Unilever or if a couple of guys just got hold of suits left over from the campaign. Before I get too defensive the BBC biggest national news and sport channel, Radio 5, did have Benteke's new contract as their main football news this morning (ahead of citeh's £22m signing).
