jacketspuds
He was a cheap option who might be able to help us in a promotion push next season. And people blame Lerner and Lambert for not planning ahead. Sylla will be our star performer when we are pushing for that last League One Play-Off place in 2015. Papillon
Diasgree. Westwood and Lowton has been very good, and Vlaar has been decent. In no way have Westwood and Lowton been very good! They have played a lot and held their place in the team, but that says very little about both of them to be honest. We are under the relegation line after all, and we have players who have contributed a lot more. Westwood will need years to establish himself in the top flight as a good player and Lowton is just very, very ordinary compared to most of the other full-backs in the league. Both would be good backup players for us, but the problem is of course that they are certainties in the line-up which is why we are where we are. - Benteke has been great, no doubt about that. 9/10 - Holman is not good enough for the Premier League, was a McLeish-signing also. There is a reason why running around is his best asset. 3/10 - Guzan wouldn't get into any other teams either, but he is solid enough and most of the GK's in this league are at a very high level. Basically a MON-signing. 7/10 - Lowton is stable, but not very commanding or well, any good. Would have been a great backup for a much better player. 5/10 - Westwood can be a good player, in a few years, but now he just fails to command games from the middle. 5/10 - Bowery is not good enough either, yet. We aren't struggling in attack in terms of options, but he should have been loaned out instead. 2/10 - Bennett is struggling immensely with this level, always out of position and fumbling the ball away as often as he can. 2/10, very disappointing season for me. - El Ahmadi came with promise but failed to deliver in his first season. Holds no real assets in his game and struggles to hold the ball. 3/10 - Then there is Sylla and Dawkins, cannot possibly give them a rating thus far but none of them seem like players Lambert would start with when everyone's fit. - Vlaar is a good player, and this season was unlucky for him with injuries. Tactically above everyone else back there and a natural leader. Sure he has been rounded a few times this season, but when on top of things he is very tidy and important. 7/10 and exactly the kind of player we should be looking for. If only we had a few Vlaar's instead of the Bennett's we would have been safe and sound. Benteke and Vlaar came from outside of the English system and that is where we should buy players with a limited budget. The French, Dutch, Belgian and German leagues have numerous players with more potential than the plucked English market. If a great player is to be found here, odds are he is already scouted and weighed by one of the better clubs. All in all, we have new players that ideally shouldn't play for our team in this league yet, perhaps some of them will make it in a few years but Lambert failed miserably when he believed his wicked managerial skills could turn them into top-10 players in a few weeks. Benteke has been excellent at times and he has made a name for himself, but don't forget he was a 7.5M player of 21 years of age, so something had to be expected of him. When he took over our squad and got some money to spend, well, let's just say the entire blame is on him if we relegate this season. It was going to be tough, but a tough manager would have used our strengths and the supplemented with the right players - he gave us players who would always struggle. And for what good? Benteke will leave for sure, Weimann could stay in the Prem and V

Richard
I think he is another flop Lambert signing. Apart from Benteke every single one of Lamberts signings have been gash There are many sticks with which you could beat the manager, and to be fair you have used most of them. This is "not the stick you are looking for" in an Alec Guiness stylee
AshVilla
Yes write the player off before he's even made a full debut... Its quite obvious this was a signing for the future Not what we needed but he's now our player and deserves a chance Wait till the bloke has played at least 90 mins of football ffs Edited February 26, 2013 by AshVilla

cbr600rr
hard to say if hes good enough yet..the worry is ..if if IS good enough & is doing well in training the manager would trust his judgement & throw him in like he did with benteke. if lambert is still not sure on him with 11 odd games to go the signs are not good. "With 11 games to go the signs are not good" - on the other hand, he's only been here for three games. "Like he did with Benteke" - Benteke was already a Belgium international and he is a **** beast, the exception rather than the rule of buying young potential from abroad. There's no signs here, there are no conspiracies. Everything is normal. Nobody knows how this is goign to turn out. Lets hope for the best. KHV
Diasgree. Westwood and Lowton has been very good, and Vlaar has been decent. Lowton and Vlaar can't defend which is one of the main attributes you would like a defender to have and westwood offers nothing in the midfield. He can't tackle, he is too lightweight and offers nothing going forward at all.
KHV
Woww KHV writes Sylla off after seeing him perform twice. :'( weepable. you can tell how good he is by the fact he is still behind Delphi and westwood in the pecking order who are both sub standard midfielders. what's the point in signing people who can't make and impact immediately? Its not as if we have time on our side is it?
