Popular Post mykeyb
Well considering they think every single player in the starting eleven is better than ours even Gary O'Neil should be able to keep them up. 1

It's different to O'Neill as that was very out of the blue leaving, Lopetegui basically been begging to be sacked and now they do it a few days before the start of the season, odd timing. I'd guess they didn't want to pay him up and he didn't want to walk away without a pile of cash. Others can laugh it up on this sub but the guy is an absolute disgrace. Just one of many self serving arseholes in the game now looking to.make a fast buck and take the piss out the fans. It is beyond a joke.

They'll probably go down with like 25 points but they'll still beat us - it's their cup final.

DJ_Villain
I want to see as many Midlands clubs in the Prem as possible… Gives us more derbies and gives the area a footballing identity… The number of players that they have sold and released is shocking… They are going to struggle so much…

Hank Scorpio
Lucky for them Luton and Sheff Utd are down basically. So it's between the rest of the league for 18th place. They will probably scrape 17th.

Way too early to make calls like this. 3
Hornso
9 hours ago, HalfTimePost said: It's bad for Midlands football that our clubs can't seem to maintain success. Wolves with Fosun and Leicester with their owners (though very different circumstances) have both achieved pretty well in recent years and have had a severe drop off. Blues seemingly go from terrible owner to terrible owner. We've had Lerner, Xia and now NSWE , let's hope NSWE are the ones to finally crack Midlands football in this modern era. It's funny because of how Wolves were with us during their good spell, but nothing about Midlands clubs managing to remain relevant, well funded and successful is good. We need a couple of great clubs in the area to prosper and grow commercially, intense rivalries between successful clubs will help us all grow and there's a real lack of that in the Midlands Don't worry "them lot from down the road" are poised to takeover world football...

He might have a chance when they get relegated if there's no cricket on at the time. He'll also be hoping for the Bradford/Leeds jobs before he retires as rivals to Huddersfield, as well as Brighton (Palace) and finally Scunthorpe/Grimsby (Hull) before calling it quits.

Popular Post Teale's 'tache
I've grown up deep in dingle territory so a lot of my friends are Wolves, I wasn't much pleased with the whole 'mind the gap' nonsense, but I let it slide, I want midlands football to be vibrant and competitive and enjoyed their success to some degree, as it cheered my friends up as much as anything else. They were the media darlings during the 7th place finishes and European run, and now it seems they've befallen the same fate as many before them. They've been in a bit of a death spiral since covid really, Nuno seemed to have lost his touch during that time and decided to change a system that had brought them a lot of success, and following that the transfer strategy became increasingly more... odd. They've spent a lot on bad players and had important player regress due to age or injury and not really found a system that works for them despite numerous attempts, even Lopetegui who did a pretty good job keeping them up was chopping and changing constantly. There are many bad decisions that have brought them to this point, but Lopetegui was probably the best manager they could reasonably attract you'd think, losing him days before the start of the season is really poor. They still have some good players, I wouldn't say they are certain to go down, but we all know what it is like when the rot sets in; when ambition is abandoned. There are only so many seasons you can survive when the goals dry up and important players leave. It's real a shame after they'd got themselves into such a good position, this should be a cautionary tale for us, as good as things are right now, a dip in form, a bad decision, a bad signing, a bit of bad luck and things can snowball, we should know, it's happened to us before.

Luton are just here for the fun. Their signings indicate as much. Will get a few shock wins at home but hard to see them winning 8-9 and drawing a similar number. Sheffield United must be one of the most frustrating clubs to support currently. Last time they came up they were a revelation under Wilder for six months but polar opposite now, their first 11 is miles weaker than what they had in the championship. Sold N'Diaye and now Berge is leaving for Burnley. Would be like us coming up in 2019 and selling Grealish and McGinn so given we only stayed up on last day they have no chance whatsoever. Fulham came up with Mitrovic and signed brilliantly with Willian, Paulinha and Andreas Periera. Forest signed endlessly but again 4-5 were huge for them by end of the season.
