The Sporting Director is leaving end of the January window. Klopp and his backroom staff leaving in the summer.

This all smells of restructuring in readiness for a sale of the club.

Wouldn’t new owners prefer to have continuity, especially a team of people who had been successful?

edit: Unless was Saudi owners and Klopp didn’t want to be a part of the new regime.

Funny innit.  There was once a time where a manager with a 10 year stint at Liverpool would have been considered a disappointment with just 1 Championship, 1 FA Cup, 1 European Championship and 1 League Cup.

Would  have probably been hounded out for the next Boot Room Boy.

He probably would have won more if it wasn't for 115 FC and the greatest Madrid team of the modern age.

Xabi Alonso bookies favourite. Some scouser on RAWK reckons he was told that Klopp has stepped aside so they can pre-sign Xabi and announced it now as a red top was going to publish it as an exclusive.

De Zerbi second favourite. Knowing Brighton they'll slap a £250m release clause on him.

He’s just signed a new contract at Al-Ettifaq so he’s not even available.

Bit like Henderson’s 3 year contract 😉

I doubt he’s in the running but if he was I don’t think his contract extension will be an issue.

Oh no doubt. Just an illustration of the changing times.

I do hope the club with the third highest revenues in world football finds a way to cope.

Lowest net spend though.

What Klopp has done there on such threadbare resources is a miracle.

I know, if Villa had a 2 strikers on wages like Nunez and Salah I can only imagine we'd be challenging Blackpool or Burton Albion.

11th in the Premier League over the last five years and 6th highest this season - still a decent achievement and they've spent less net on transfers than us over that period (albeit from a very different starting point)  - but they do have the 4th largest wage bill in the league.

They're not minnows, he hasn't taken Brentford to the top, he's done a brilliant job of managing a massive team with huge resources - they're not about to fall apart now he's leaving.

All it takes is the wrong manager appointment, Salah finishing, VVD finishing, getting some bad transfers, and they could be the next Arsenal. 5-6 place for years.
