Imagine if a streaker ran on to the picture against them with 114 charges written on their chest.

Then as they're escorted off the pitch, another one jumps on...

Then another...

Until 114 have been on.

They'd have to cancel the game and media couldn't ignore that and club's would struggle to stop it.

Surely a lot depends on whose chest the message is written on as to the amount of coverage it gets in the press. Is Erika Row still around these days? Other chests are of course available and very acceptable. As long as the message gets through. Although other body parts may be more representative in the case of Citeh ……………

a few rumourings over the last couple of weeks that they've basically gotten away with it. out of court settlement is another that's being thrown around

if that happened, i'd seriously consider walking away from football. or just follow a non league team or something. i would just feel like there's no point as the PL are just going to let them do what they like and win the league every year

Let them enjoy their last few seasons of success, before they are inevitably reaplced at the top of the league  by Newcastle United 😉

The random punishments and appeals happening all over the place are already making a mockery of these rules.

A club being able to settle out of court for, presumably, a far more lenient punishment would put the nail in the coffin of any respect these rules carry.

It would be a complete farce

might be wishful thinking, but i think it could be one of those things that see english football fans unite (like when the super league was announced)

i think there would be mass protest for a start

Id say Liverpool fans will

Would be cool if there were mass walk outs in games vs city next season, after like 15 minutes home fans just left the ground (Sheffield utd did it this season ) but that's unlikely to work properly, sky wouldn't be able to skirt round it though, it needs something that makes them have to address it because at the moment the story isn't even being told, it's not talked about

The good news is, that you won’t have to travel far to see a none league club before too long!! They’re hugely ambitious though and could soon rise from the ashes of perpetual failure on and off the pitch!! 😂😂😂😂

There aren't 'random punishments and appeals' happening. All of the cases have happened for a reason, and in each case a judgement has been published explaining in painstaking detail how they reached the verdict they reached. Every time I've read these they've been logical, and seem to be the outcome of a good-faith effort to find a balance between enforcing the rules and accepting legitimate mitigations.

On the other hand, I would absolutely agree that the way the media has talked about these cases very much gives the impression that there are 'random punishments and appeals happening all over the place', and that is what has doomed PSR: it has no legitimacy in the eyes of fans because media have misinformed fans, and because fans don't care enough to find out for themselves. For all the moaning about people breaking the rules, it turns out the only thing fans hate more than clubs doing the crime is anyone being punished for them later.

Tribalism and ignorance.

You will never hear fan agreeing with punishment of their own club for breaking the rules, but they are outraged when other clubs are not punished.

I meant the timing of them are random. I think it makes them look really bad that they’re handed out all over the place and appeals can then make them go away. Teams could stay up but then be relegated if appeals don’t go a certain way.

I’m sure they’re logical, not doubting that. I just think a competition where teams are getting points deductions all over the place which are then reduced or reversed just looks laughable.
