It was the hardest thing i've ever had to do, but god it was the right decision looking back 3-4 months on. We just didn't share a lot of interests, and I always felt like I was letting her down because I wasn't interested in her stuff and I was always frustrated that she didn't seem to give a shit about any of my interests. So we were just sort of like housemates for quite a while. She's a wonderful girl and I really hope she lands on her feet, she'll be happier if she finds someone who is a bit more similar to her. We've got quite a tight knit group of friends, so i'll definitely continue to see her from time to time, but I guess that will only be an issue when I find someone else, and i've got a date tomorrow night Obviously we're only 3-4 months removed from breaking up, but for me this has been a really long term thing. I've been ready to move on for more than a year, I just had to build up the courage to do it. I'm 29 now and I haven't been single since I was 16, so I have literally no idea what i'm doing or what a modern date is supposed to go like, i'll just play it by ear and hope i'm as charming as I think I am. I briefly dabbled with Tinder after a lot of arm-twisting from a few of my workmates, but it really wasn't for me. I don't really feel right about talking to 8 people at once. One of the girls on there caught my interest much more than the rest though, and she ticked a lot of boxes for me really quickly, so I told her I probably wasn't going to use Tinder anymore but i'd love to keep talking to her, and gave her my facebook details. She added me, and we've gone from there. I haven't had a first date in 13 years. I'm pretty nervous and excited. I was absolutely bricking it at the start but she was really disarming, and once we got talking it was absolutely brilliant. She has a good job, she's into her sport, she has dogs, we seem to have similar values and sense of humour. She's quite a strong person and will challenge me, which is right up my alley and was a big problem in my marriage, because my wife just didn't really want to talk about anything we might disagree about or that I was passionate about because I would speak passionately about it and we might argue. You only really learn about yourself when you're forced to defend your position IMO. Just dinner, but we only called it a night when the cafe was closing and we were about to be kicked out. Grrrr fit as hell though. im single again I ended with that girl I was seeing, her insecurity of her weight really out me off her. I just had no feelings for her either so thought be for best I ended it. Wasn't expected to react the way she did, she went mad at me and told me she really liked me. It affects me in that I see women who look what I would day around 30ish and don't even bother as I feel they'll immediately assume I'm younger than they are and they won't be attracted to me for that reason. It's kind of annoying. That being said, I've seen some women online and on Tinder in their late twenties and early 30s who look rough as **** so maybe I should count my blessings.
