ciggiesnbeer
I have been pretty steadily behind the bloke the whole season but now its just getting too close for comfort. Now is the time to sack him and change our form. The time to give him a chance was a month or so ago as a last shot. Now we should be in full panic mode and changing manager. We need a change. When the plane is going down you may as well start hitting as many buttons as you can in case one of them has an effect. We need to hit this button. We ARE looking relegation as a very real possibility if something doesnt change. He cant change, he has had a season. Time to man up and pay him off Randy. You made a mistake. CI
None of us do Right now my focus is just on achieving safety which will more than likely come via default Then we deal with the situation
imavillan
He's been a dead man walking for months. God knows how he's still in a job. If we are being honest he was a dead man walking the moment he either lapsed into madness or was blinded by money and accepted the job. The fact that two seemingly sensible men and a te aforementioned individual managed to sit down and somehow agree that this appointment was and still appears to be in the best interests of the club is where reality becomes stretched. Even now, i genuinely do not know how the reasning went???????? I have said this before in other threads. It is because we are being run by people that do not know about football.....because if they did, they would never of made the appointment....and that is purely based upon his cv. CI
Agree, I've been like a broken record for about a year now saying we need an experienced Ditector of Football at the club, a SGTaylor type person Faulkner is out of his depth and knowledge zone This is what happens when you get an inheritance billionaire driving the bus Quite literally losing £5million pounds in a transaction means nothing to these people They have no concept of the value of £ / $
coda
Faulkner and Lerner are money men. Did the club not employ a wanky agency who came up with Houllier?
Robbie09
i wouldnt give him the stink off my shit every other day i pop back on here in the hope that randy has snapped out of his spastic phase of the last 18 months and booted the ginger poison twins out of our club each and every game the long suffereing and those tricked into buying season tickets on the back of a flow of bullshit from the club should protest, banners, songs and all. the clueless flame haired rough skinned north of england self proclaimed 'manager' has had it too easy for too long. we need to actually show the rest of the country that it is not a couple deluded fans who dont like him, the thick retarded bumpy faced sweaty sock really has taken the piss and needs to be given no choice but to leave. i **** hate that puke of a human You're not his biggest fan are you? Mantis
I love brummybloke's McLeish rants. He hasn't really said anything the rest of us haven't already said but the way he puts his message across is excellent.
macandally
I do not think that GT is the man to come in, but some form of expertise (beyond watching match of the day) in the football area is sadly lacking on the board. Employing agents or agencies to source our managers is folly and amatuerish. Agencies as an entity are just money making schemes to suit those who are chronically lazy or inept. The world is full of football experts and getting in the likes of Tony Morley, Ian Taylor and the like who still work at the club would at least give some level of understanding to things like appointing McLeish. Steve Stride did a good job and blended finance and football and his departure was never fully explained. The PR spin that has surrounded the club since Randy took over is one of the more unpalatable aspects. There were some nice touches but hiring, firing and club direction have been kept under the table. I suppose arguably they should be!
thetrees
Steve Stride did a good job and blended finance and football and his departure was never fully explained. Did he? I see this comment regularly on here. Steve Stride had longevity at the club, owing to the fact that he was Doug's boy during a similar period of longevity. We didn't pull up any trees during his tenure, and i don't recall any particular transfer coups, not that Stride's involvement with transfers was much more than drawing up the already agreed contract. He may have done a decent job, but i don't think that Steve Stride is anywhere near the dynamic football businessman some make him out to be. As to why he left, i think that you will find he was Doug's man, that he did okay out of the takeover himself, and he was always going to leave after a short period of transition. If, as many on here often mention, we need a 'football person' as chief executive, then Mr. Lerner should go for Karren Brady. She lives locally and meets the criteria that so many seem to require. VillaRoy
I'm just praying he pulls off a miracle over this long weekend But if he goes to anfield and sets up for 0-0 is that acceptable, a point there normally is good but with their form ? Then stoke at home, tough game for sure, and us defending set pieces ? Christ I don't know I'd snap your hand off for a point at Anfield right now. I think they'll be looking to inflict some serious damage on Saturday after their recent slump!

Seems to be a jack of all trades but a master of none......not too bad on the business side but her football comments seem be a little naive or she says something for sake of saying something which tend to make her look stupid. She does have in general that 'football person' piece to her resume but she is average at best and I would hope we would look for somebody more talented. bakelle1
From a somewhat new US fan: Realistically (although from lurking here, idk if that exists on this forum) what will it take for McLeish to be sacked? If we finish 16-17, will Randy feel that our premiere league safety will be in jeopardy next season and be forced to make a change? Or will he feel that injuries, lack of own players, etc. are reason enough to give McLeish another full season to prove himself? As a billionaire, I doubt Randy will want to be proven wrong after making such a controversial decision. If McLeish is sacked, what faith should we have that Randy will find someone better than McLeish? I do admit it would be impossible for him to find someone worse, so I guess there is that positive. Sorry that my country has given you such a shit owner.

All I can see is "SLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG" Haha It's not a bad idea at all. Look where the great unwashed were as a business when she came in and when they came out. Granted she was with pornodwarf and ...er, the other one, but she's done well everywhere she's been. And she was given that directorship at 22. I tell you what, she's got 100 times the football business nous than our dickhead. Alas, she's having an affair ("again?!") with the 'Ammers. You pick up the Evening Standard and she's normally on the back of it harping on about her love of fake claret and blue

brummybloke
karen brady? i think the suggestion was actually a piss take and not a serious suggestion it has been painfully obvious from the moment the first ginger was moved up from his position of chief program seller to CEO of the entire club that he knew slightly less than one of those greyish white dog shits which you used to see as a kid but strangely seem to have become extinct. that is where the collapse of our club can very very clearly be seen to have started in the job for a matter of weeks or days and then MON walks and the rest as they say is **** shit. there is nothing wrong with having a great business man at the club RUNNING THE COMMERCIAL SIDE OF THINGS because going by randys logic, why not let phatty faulkner manage the team as well , he seems to know so much about football already to be qualified to run the club and just think, we could save money by only having the one ginger ruining the club rather than 2 of them
