AVFC-Prideofbrum
Shock .....Ireland is still shit.
foreveryoung
Shock .....Ireland is still shit. I was at the game to be fair he looked uncomfortable from the start in that postion. As I say McLeish has'nt a clue how to set us up!
Humanoid
I thought he'd at least give his all tonight to show he had changed his ways. Time to draw a line under this numpty.
tinker Posted September 20, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted September 20, 2011 We are stuck with him for the duration of his contract, i would play him in the reserves tbh, perhaps even send him round villa park selling programs. The guys a loser, who signed him, was it MON last parting shot or did the board decide he was good enough?
Bazdavies79
I think he's more a striker than a midfielder anyway, which is where I guess he played today.

Shillzz
Not our worst player today at all. Grew into the game a little I thought. His name shouldn't be the first point of discussion after that performance, not with Albrighton, Delfouneso and Hutton putting in the performances they did. Robbie09
Not the worst player tonight - some of his runs were good but we lacked someone who could pick a pass. His head dropped towards the end but who can blame him when the ball is being hoofed forward out of desperation. For me tonight showed that Albrighton and Bannan flatter to deceive, The Fonz is miles off and Hutton is no better than any of our other right backs. It's going to be a long and dull journey that's for sure.....
PaulMcgrathsknees
Good when he gets on the ball. Our midfield is just too powderpuff to carry him.
DelboyVilla
Oh so has Irelend done enough to get the start on Saturday?? Didn't see the match and don't want too! Is the hitman option becoming a real possiblity now on Ireland?
Ponky
Maybe time to try him wide left or wide right. Surely couldn't be worse than in the centre and won't have to fight for the ball as much. He has the technical ability to create goals but just lets the game pass him by too much. DelboyVilla
The only wing I want to see Ireland on is attached to a 747 heading out of Brum!
Emmab
He was woeful last night !!!! made a couple of decent runs but then couldnt make a pass if his life depended on it.
JamesWithe
On 65k a week and seeing the kind of attitude he displays from time to time I dont think I would wrong to say he may probably think he is better than us. Ironic as this couldn't be further from the truth...
AdamLL
Was playing far too deep for my liking. Should have been pushed up along side Gabby, who was massively isolated.
LondonLax
I think we are going to have a hard time getting him off the wage bill, he still has years left on that massive contract.
jackio1986
Have we ever won a game Ireland has played in?
Houlston
Dont think its fair to single him out last night, he was played far too deep and thats not his position. If he's not going to be played further forward then its a waste of time playing him, its detrimental to the team and also his own confidence and for future displays. VillaN.I
He is making Djemba djemba and Berson look like superstars when they with the villa.
