  1. I can remember many a person on here slating Clark/Baker and calling for Okore when Vlaar was out injured and since then too - I also wouldn't say being 'eased back in' is playing a full game 3 times in the space of 9 days because we have no other option. I think 4 games ago Okore was Lamberts 5th choice CB? Nothing wrong with that is there?
  2. If that stat is true then I bet there is a stat on the internet showing that Hilter was good for the Jews? Just shows how much meaningless tripe there is in the www.
  3. Not saying it for sure but he only brought in Okore when he was the last and only choice? He couldn't have planned to have 3 other CB's injured just at the week when JK was ready? No one's that brilliant?
  4. And this cannot be our plan for survival. Even though Lambert seems to think it will work? We sit back and invite pressure far too easily. We cannot hold out against every team every week as we saw only to recently this season!
  5. Not a bad shout! An improvement on Gabby any day of the week!
  6. I agree. Interestingly, if people want to look for a sign of progress then for the corresponding fixtures this season compared to last season we are actually 6 points better off. That is a sign of some progress. That isn't to say everything is rosey, that the football is great and Lambert doesn't make mistakes. Far from it. But at this stage of the season being 6 point better off for corresponding fixtures to last season having spent just £10m is, in my view at least, a sign of some progress. However for many, myself included, it's all too little too late. Watching us grab a goal then sit back and try to hold on week in week out is not what I want to see. I don't think it will keep us safe over the season! I also think that a better manager could get far more out of that squad. We need to replace him IMO but we also have to hope a buyer is found sooner rather than later.
  7. If his motivation to play well was created by the club and manager, and we're benefiting from it, why was it a stupid idea? He was putting in some awful performances when he got dropped. When did he get dropped? Back in McLeish's season? IIRC, before this season, Hutton hadn't played a competetive game for us under Lambert. He didn't even give him a chance. His recent performances cannot be credited to the club for ignoring him for two seasons. Lambert is just lucky that someone that he previously judged to be 'not good enough', turned out to be good enough when Lowton's performances went to shit. Lambert has also luckily landed on his feet with Okore. From being told by Trent that 'Lambert thinks Okore isn't ready', to him putting in 3 good performances (minus the penalty give-away), surely brings into question Lambert's judgement. And during the two seasons in the bomb squad he apparently put in some very good performances for the Sweaty National side too? I still fail to see how isolating experienced players and good wages was a good idea?
  8. He completely lost my support with the last few games end of last season. Can he turn it around? IMO it's not something I would expect to worry about. I just feel he is not capable of it. I am happy about the win last night and really hope we can even back that up with a win against Leicester. I really hope we can go 2 or even 3 goals up in a game and not have an hour of worrying every game! Does it change my overall view on Lambert! No! In many ways I don't understand him or the things he says. For example he seems to 'get' what a big club we are and what's expected of him and what's acceptable result wise but he seems to think what he is giving us is satisfactory? Obviously he is very close to Lerner which I feel will be his ultimate downfall. Lerner and Lambert will be thought of together for all time( Lerbert or Lamner or Paundy)! I think what he's giving us result-wise is pretty satisfactory right now - do you not? It's more the manner in which we're playing that's the problem for me. I think it's on the brink of satisfactory. We don't win Sunday and I'd say no it's not. Exactly we need to get the points on the board now because I feel we are only one game away from another long winless run?
  9. Not many managers jobs up for grabs at the moment though?
  10. Thing is people can't accept Lambert was a victim of the constraints placed upon the clubs wage restrictions and lack of investment in playing staff in his first two seasons. They just seem to blame the two seasons solely on Lambert and it's all down to his failings as a manager. When really this is the only season he's been able to assemble a proper squad of experienced footballers. So it is this season to judge him fairly. But over and over people drag up the previous two seasons. That is in the past. Get over it and look forward not back. If we do well this season give credit to Lambert Personally I have taken the constraints he has worked under and that's exactly why he has not had stick from me until this season as the problems from 2 years ago are still evident now. Even forgetting the last 2 seasons as you suggest we keep dragging them up I am still not happy with the management of the team and the style of play on the pitch and I think there are issues which are being ignored. The team is as strong as it's been for a while now and a win at Palace does not make me forget what has happened this season. Whether you look at this season in isolation or the whole of Lamberts tenure for me there are the same issues and concerns occurring, that is why I think Lambert is not the man who has the talent to take us forward!
  11. Trouble is it will always be Westwood and Cleverley and then one from Cole, Richardson or Sanchez?

  13. He would be my choice too. From all reports he's an excellent coach and that's what we need and hopefully he won't have just written a book he wants to plug!
  14. That's exactly what you're saying too, just the other way round. Yes I am saying that. I fully admit that I don't KNOW that, it's just a hunch I have from the information we've been given around the situation. Which isn't much. You've avoided the question, predictably. Have you got ANYTHING to back up what you've said? Or have you just made it up? The only evidence I have is Lamberts own words when he said all footballing decisions are his and that the 'young and hungry was his idea. I also remember Faulkner saying the same thing? I honestly don't believe there is a manager out there who would let the Board controll the side that gets on the pitch and a lot of managers out there have quit at the first signs of such influence? My hunch based on what has been said?
