abdomlahor
3-1 Everton. Can't see us getting anything. I would go: Friedel Cuéllar - Collins - Dunne - Warnock Downing - NRC - Petrov - Young Ireland Agbonlahor With that I think we might get a point, but if we defend as badly as we have been, Cahill, Arteta and Saha will have a field day. Jez
Could go either way. We could be an un-organised mess. Or beat em. I know which one i'm going for.
dudley_villa
Not lookin forward to this at all, Cant belive they are 2/1 with lads and we are as short as 11/
Pilchard
Expect us to lose which will be a blessing as surely it means ronald macdonald won't get the job permanently. Friedel cuellar dunne collins warnock albrighton downing petrov ireland young gabby will be the team IMO.
Willy_Evergo
Really looking forward to this one NOT. 9 goals conceded to average teams in the last two games.
DiegoD
Hmm i want to be optimistic, but i just cant see us getting anything from this game. Think we will lose 3-0, hopefully not worse than 4-0.
Cracker1234
I think most people in this thread are in an agreement then.....It's going to get worse before it gets better?
Villadevon
I want to see someone smash Cahill right in the gob In fact if he comes behind the North Stand goal I'll do it meself He'll be too busy punching the corner flag.
shambles
My starting XI: -------------------Friedel Young-----Collins-------Dunne-----Warnock ------------Petrov---------Reo-Coker----------- Young----------Ireland-----------------Downing --------------------Gabby------------------- I want Petrov and Reo-Coker playing very deep, but be there to provide an outlet if a forward player runs up a blind alley. Wingers hugging the touchline, Ireland has free role. I want to see more forward play from Luke Young and Warnock, I want to see some overlapping and them joining in attacks. Downing, I expect more from him, I want him covering his fullback when he gets forward. Dunne / Collins - please, please, please, no hoofing to the forwards. To the team as whole - If you can't go forwards go sideways. If you can't go sideways go backwards. Keep the ball on the deck. If we've got the ball, the opposition can't score. AValon
We'll win 2-1 and the resulting euphoria will cloud the issue even further! This is the Villa we're talking about after all.....

Stevo985 Posted August 29, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted August 29, 2010 Anything could happen today. We could lose 5-0 or we could smash them. Who knows with the way we are at the moment?!

Cracker1234
That's how bad the fans confidence in the team is atm, we can't even predict our own team winning.....Sad sad days.
Pilchard
To be fair, everton are a decent side - and if we do lose at least it means that's got to be the end of ronald macdonald.
villan-scott Posted August 29, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted August 29, 2010 I think we will turn a corner today! Our main problem has been our defence, and with the return of Collins next to Dunne at the heart of our defence should sort this, as long as Mac isn't too blind to see Young in the hole and Ireland deeper isn't working and to stick Young back out wide and push Ireland further up, and bring NRC for his energy and running to cover the hole that Cahill and Arteta operate in. I'm saying 2-1 Villa, I really think that we can't get any worse than we have been.
