Stevo985 Posted August 29, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted August 29, 2010 It's dead. In the premiership with teams playing 1 upfront and attacking fullbacks, it will not work.
Mantis
Let's just get through this game.
dounavilla
This looks like a bad decision IMO not to play NRC with petrov and just drop Downing move Young out wide and push Ireland up ? I really hope im wrong but if we concede first we will lose for sure !
Foxy1
At risk of saying something positive we could go 4th if we win .....just saying
jonno_2004
I don't think he intentionally sets out to put Ireland as a holding player but as he's playing next to Petrov he has to get through his fair share of leg work. He can do it, for sure, it just limits our effectiveness going forward.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I admire attacking formations but unless we have a better striker up front, we aren't going to outscore our opponents. Heres hoping for a 7-6 victory
pete165
For a team that's conceded 9 goals in two games, that's an incredibly attacking line-up, especially against a very strong and physical midfield of Everton. Very strange considering KM's previous comments about naivety -you'd have thought he'd have dropped Albrighton for NRC and tighten things up, using Downing and Young on the wings with Ireland supporting Carew. Saying that, I'll not damn him - I've had worries about team selections before and been proved wrong - you never know, if we play positive football and work really hard, we'll certainly create going forwards. Looks like he's going for it at least - which is maybe better than just running scared. We'll see.
jonno_2004
I wish he'd drop Downing and play NRC out wide on the right just to add a bit of steel to the team, it would allow Ireland to get forward too.
jonno_2004
Anyone see Moyes following Randy then? I wonder if he's dragging him off for some discussions.. one can only hope.

Forget Moyes, we should be after the next up and coming Moyes from the lower leagues...

PompeyVillan
I've just got back into the country in time to see this match. Last I saw, we thumped West Ham 3-0. Now I come back and everything has gone wrong. And now Ireland is **** injured. Mother ****.

PompeyVillan
He didn't look at all happy. I'd be surprised, by his expression alone, if he plays today.
