TheSufferingVilla
Not having a go at the lad. Just saying that ,if he is putting in a shift into training, and still not getting into the first team ,then obviously that's not enough. I agree footballers are human beings, but some more professional than others Disagree, I prefer to see footballers spending their spare time enjoying football, being fans of the sport instead of hanging around clubs and casinos gambling away their earnings and getting blackmailed by scummy birds. A down to earth footballer who enjoys the game has a beer and mixes with supporters is worth ten stuck up clearing in the woods pampering themselves in the Penthouse suite while some scam artist pisses away their life savings by managing their investment portfolios. Good luck to Bannan, I hope he enjoyed the game and took away some inspiration from Celtics heroic defensive effort and Barca's overturning of the parked bus. If indeed Lambert is using a rotation system he might well be on the team sheet this Saturday.
Zatman
surely he would learn a bit more passing range studying Xavi and Iniesta in person beer or no beer
Zatman
The guy is a grade A word removed and is also a very average premiership footballer. Have you met him? if you have is their a reason he is a word removed. he made one driving mistake and people are tarnishing as same brush as a Lee Bowyer or Joey Barton
Big_John_10
I don't need to meet him. IMO being drunk and then driving on the motorway makes you a word removed. Could easily have killed innocent people because of his decision. Add that to his average footballing ability and I truly don't care wether bannan plays or not here. KjParton
is he not allowed to have a good time? Does he have to be spending his every waking hour training. No he's a **** person too you know.
A.V.F.C
I've met Barry Bannan at Mechu, he was there with Kyle Walker during the Houllier season, I thought he seemed a decent bloke, was fine chatting to me and my mates from uni and bantering about the Xavi reference Houllier once made. I think all people would be a cock to a degree loaded with money and living that life style, I think he seems a personality whenever you see any squad activities on AVTV and I think he's a decent player on his day. LockStockVilla
Met him before in Glasgow a couple of times and he is a decent enough bloke, just likes a good time. Slating him for enjoying himself on a day off is pathetic. If he shows up to a match and is puking on the field 5 minutes in, then fair enough, let rip on his lifestyle. But everyone, no matter the lifestyle, deserves to be able to enjoy themselves outside of work without every move being under the microscope. KjParton
I've met him out on a night out in stafford twice and he's been really nice both times. Not being all high and mighty like i'm sure quite a few footballers are these days.
AVFCforever1991
Who cares if the guy has a beer, and hopefully he was watching xavi and iniesta learning a few things.
Swerbs
It's no coincidence that we play better with him in the team.
CI
I like the way he sprints across to take corners. Always looks hungry, should be playing.
Hanky
Don't get me wrong Bannan isn't the answer to all our problems, but he should be playing ahead of the other two in midfield. The incident yesterday when Lowton was taking a throw, Benteke was being marked by about three Norwich players, and KEA and Delph were just standing still not looking for the ball was absolutely horrendous. Swerbs
Right now out of our current set of players we should be playing with a 5 man midfield which should include ------ KEA/Delph - Bannan ------ - Holman -- Ireland -- N'Zogbia - Rotating Holman with Albrighton and N'Zogbia with Gabby. I personally think both Bent and Benteke would thrive in that system playing up top.
VillaChris
How much time off did we have last week if he was able to get to Barcelona? Indicates to me we weren't training on the tuesday or Wednesday? Wouldn't surprise me if Bannan is playing for Celtic this time next year, the SPL is his level. VillaChris
It's no coincidence that we play better with him in the team. Do we? He started against Everton and was awful, KEA improved when he was subbed.
BG
I've liked his attitude since seeing him in the Youth / Reserves a few years ago, and he nutmegged a player - you cant fault his attitude. Unfortunately like Albrighton, probably Delph, and a few others, he isn't going to cut the mustard just because he came through the youth ranks. He has had his chances.. If he is still around our first team this time next season he'll have found his level, and so will we - in the Championship.

ciggiesnbeer
Bannan deserves a lot of praise for today. He worked REALLY hard in attack & defence. twice I saw he tracked all the way back across the entire pitch to cover for the back 4. Well done son.
