  1. Richards will never play again in my opinion, I don't think well keep De Laet either. Sell those there is probably a place somewhere for him....somewhere.
  2. Im not bothered if he played 20 odd Championship games for them. Medel is a crab, would offer us nothing Westwood doesn't.
  3. Dont think Noone is anything special myself. Mutch only turned 22 December just gone. Hes physically imposing, carries the ball forward well and seems to always find dangerous positions. I reckon hell be at a big club in the future. It'll annoy my Birmingham mates as well which is a bonus.
  4. Bizarre argument, it isnt Jordans fault if our manager picks him over some of our youth players for a bench spot, could be thathe does more in training, or any number of reasons, I honestly have no idea and nor do any of the rest of you. The loan will do Bowery good he needs games at his age and I hope he does well, like many others I see no real future for him at this club though. Loans can improve certain aspects of a players game but he doesnt look like ever having the technique to be a prem player.
  5. I'd like us to sign Jordan Mutch if Cardiff go down. Been very impressed with what ive seen and a realistic option who would improve us whilst fitting the ethos.
  6. We knew it'd be a long road but its been a frustrating couple of seasons, we shoot ourselves in the foot so much. We have a decent few weeks of fixtures coming up so I hope we can get on some kind of run for once, despite our scandalous transfer window,
  7. When has Herd had these stand out performances at RB? His best performances came in midfield under he who must not be named, he should have got player of the season that year over Stephen **** Ireland. Hes never had a go in midfield since which is strange because as limited as he is I think he'd be a better tackling mid than Sylla, and thats nothing against Sylla who I think does a job.
  8. Marin is on a season long loan at Seville.
  9. A cool 10m on a useless N'Zogbia and a 5 year deal for a geriatric goalkeeper did nought to improve things.
  10. Ah, so many raised hopes to be dashed, it'ld be nice though! I'll predict Ashley Young.
  11. It changes pretty quickly, but it's hard to see where his opportunity will come from. He's always been the one most talked about and he banged goals in at the development levels, represented England etc, if you'd asked me back then who'd have the chance of making it out of him and Andi it wouldn't have been Weimann. I've rarely ever been impressed when Nathans had a chance though, he's never took the bull by the horns and transferred the raw ability into a really good performance. That said, his loan stats don't phase me at all, Weimann/Agbonlahor and more have had rubbish loans and done just fine for Villa, as long as they're getting game time when they go on loan that's fine for me as far as our players go. He could still make the grade but it'll be tough and this is last chance saloon.
  12. Some people are really out of touch with reality if they believe Weimann is going to be offered within the regions of 50k a week. That simply will not happen and how has ANYTHING that's happened over the last few years made some of you think otherwise. Further to that, he doesn't warrant that figure regardless of this season (and believe me, I am a huge huge Weimann fan, I love the kid) but people are either just overexcited or just stupid. Liverpool ain't going to offer him 50k, nobody is, and let's not forget he owes us a bit as well, we've brought him up for a fair old while and he's been part of a good youth set up which teaches them the right way to play and does everything to see them afforded the opportunity to come through. I'd wager he knows all this himself, and I reckon he will have a lot of respect for both Villa and Lambert and will sign a new long term deal with the club assuming safety is sealed. I'm surprised at some people, we got ourselves into a real mess by giving players more money than they deserved, and it took not months but years to be rid of some of those leeches, obviously Weimann does not fall into the same category as these but with his young age and his inexperience people shouldn't be so quick in wishing us to hand out a 4 year 50k contract. We were all v.excited when Agbonlahor came through, good debut season and he was rewarded gradually. I have no problems top performer being paid top money but only after some consistency We've had so many flavour of the month players over the years, and whilst I am quite sure Weimann has a fine career ahead of him some of you would prob have some right shit on big long contracts based on not a whole lot.
  13. Huddlestone fit would walk into our side as others have said. He gets a bit of abuse but i've always rated him as a good player, he'd do well for us I think, and if it were him and it were a loan i'd imagine it'd be with a view to buy as I don't think he's got a future there. Livermore would never be to buy as he's a rated prospect.
  14. When is this irritating lump of shit going to **** off.
  15. Agree with both above posts mostly. Think on Lescott though, whilst I agree with the premise about learning from mistakes and running a club properly, there is a different between prudence and simple neglect, there are occasions where you need to accept you may make a loss in the long term, i'd say Lescott would be an acceptable example of this if we could get him, baring in mind also how much new revenue is about to flood the league from the most recent TV deal. I agree that in the main, your theory is the right one, and it's the one we'll adopt long term now and Lamberts pretty much said that in different words. Lescott is a good opportunity for us though if he's available and willing to join and I think we'd be mad to pass it up. Kjaer is a pipe dream for me (so is Lescott though!)
  16. Lescott took great pleasure, right AT our fans, when he equalised before being served by Ash he took his Everton top off and waved it at our fans, on several occasions when he has scored he's sought to celebrate in front of our fans. People who think he loves us are deluded or simply haven't watched him against us. I'd go as far as saying we seemed like his most disliked opponents! If it happens it's an amazing transfer but it won't be happening because he has some love for us.
  17. Calls for Hutton to play are ridiculous. It's over for him at Villa. I know it's Man United and it's daunting but it's his position, he's the only left back fit to play so he should play. It's such a massive one off making your debut against Man United, the adrenalin will see him through most of it. Even Hogg managed ok in his big debut v United and he's the biggest lump of shit ever.
  18. He will start i'd imagine, Bennetts wound keeps opening up, Baker is injured, Lichaj is injured AND suspended. We're down to the bare bones. Let's hope he does well.
  19. I like Bannan, I also like how passionate his displays are, anyone see him absolutely seething at Vlaar when Swindon scored their first goal against us? He cares, he wants to make an impact and I think he's done reasonably well this season. He's obviously got a level of technical ability and I think he has a part to play. Even those who don't rate him can hardly sit there and say Delph is better, cause Delph has been very disappointing for me (which is a shame as I want him to be a success). Bannan is worthy of his place right now, he fits in.
  20. Away at Blackpool Houllier season, off the top of my head.

    Joe Bennett

He has had about 4/5 appearances, and a couple of them cut short by injury, cannot understand the level of animosity aimed at him. Admittedly, I don't think he's done well, but when McLeish went all the members on here who post on twitter were all banging about getting behind a new manager, they knew it was going to be tough but they were happy as long as we were giving it a go etc.....now you wonder whether they either just said those clique'd lines and didn't appreciate how tough it would be, or whether they are just full of shit, we obviously won't replace our summer signing in January, nor should we, kids finding his feet and he needs fans behind him not tweeting him loads of bollocks and ripping him to shreds. Lichaj is not a good left back, he does a job there cause he's such a hero but we all saw v Southampton that when the shit hits the fan down that wing he's not able to stop it. Warnock was a joke, an actual joke, so i'm going to afford the new left back a bit more than 4 odd league appearances. Obviously, I agree he needs to improve, but as I said I think it's abysmal to be dictating whether or not he is worthy of playing in this league at this stage. I think he'll come good, at which point it'll be funny hearing those that slagged him before he'd had a real chance start praising him. I remember this happening with Petrov as well, fans wanted rid, he had our player of the season not too much further forward.
  22. Where did that burst of pace come from! He was zipping up and down that wing!
  23. He looked very good v Sunderland and I hope and expect he'll start the next game against United. As others have said, it's important to stick with him, he clearly has potential to be a big player here from what we've seen so far, but it's gonna be a long process. Like most of our side really, it;s exciting to think how some of them (Westwood/Benteke mainly) progress over time.

    Relegation

It's incredibly depressing. We get stick for our attendances etc but I am proud of myself and the other 30k who made it because what on earth do we get in return. Nothing has gone right at this club since that cup final, nothing. Houllier as having a mare but just as things turned around he has ill health and ends up leaving, then McLeish I don't even need to go into that farce and now we gained some positivity and optimism and got the man we wanted and things are still falling to pieces all around us. I've stated so categorically to rivals fans that we wouldn't go down but I am sitting here now mulling over what i've seen today and now i'd be absolutely delighted if the season ended now and we scraped survival somehow. Bent's going, it's obvious and though some people seem to think this is a good thing they'll quickly realise it isn't when the team that scores no goals and makes no chances sells the only one who can nick something out of fairly little. Think it sums it up that people bone off Holman cause of his brilliant work rate, so many times i've seen an opportunity for him to make a great chance for our striker and the adrenalins kicked in and he's gone for the blast. Some of these young players have regressed rather then progressed, I loved Albrighton when he was coming through, he had a v.good season under Houllier generally, now I don't even recognise the run before think one dimensional player I see now, so many I could say the same for. Problem is they don't think they're in a fight, there is some serious delusion that we're worth tons more points or something and that isn't the case, and it's coming mainly from the manager and filtering through the squad, our OS is like a propaganda machine the way it tries to twist things in our favour. I am embarrassed at the moment of this club, the club I love and I am actually embarrassed when we're live on tv cause i sit at the ground knowing others are watching how shit we've become, i'd love to know what happens behind the scenes cause this club is dying on it's feet and the only way I can see it going if we don't pull off something special in one of these grim fixtures we have is down, and for Aston Villa to be relegated means a failure at every level of management involved in the club because we should be seeing so much better.
  25. I've met Barry Bannan at Mechu, he was there with Kyle Walker during the Houllier season, I thought he seemed a decent bloke, was fine chatting to me and my mates from uni and bantering about the Xavi reference Houllier once made. I think all people would be a cock to a degree loaded with money and living that life style, I think he seems a personality whenever you see any squad activities on AVTV and I think he's a decent player on his day.
