VillaGoMarching
No matter what Sturridge thinks, he can't play as a Striker, this is rodgers way of trying to integrate his 4-3-3 from Swansea, Sturridge, Ince and Sterling will compete for win positions, while Borini will back up Suarez. Stevo985 Posted December 19, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 19, 2012 I think Sturridge will do fine if he's allowed to play up front. The only time he's had an extended run there (on loan at Bolton) he was excellent.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
The need a traditional no.9 to play up front and bring players like Suarez/Ince/Sturridge into the game. Similar to the job Danny Graham did at Swansea.
The_Rev
Or Andy Carroll did at Newcastle?
P3te
sturridge is the greediest **** in english football. he'll be another disaster at liverpool
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Or Andy Carroll did at Newcastle? Carroll is not that good and, it would appear, rather injury prone. Why they spent so much money on him is a mystery for the ages.

The_Rev
Metro reporting that Huntelaar has signed a three year contract extension at Schalke. (link)
Jimzk5
At the age of 29, with the cost of signing him and wages (he wanted 130k pw to join arsenal in the summer) id say its very unlikely we will see huntelaar ply his trade in the premier league. The_Rev
Someone might have taken a punt on him on a Bosman, Liverpool and Arsenal have been heavily linked, but I think only on a Bosman because once a fee comes into the equation then he starts to look expensive. I rate Huntelaar though, he didnt have the best season at Milan but everywhere else he has played he has been prolific. I thought he was extremely unlucky to only last six months at Real Madrid, where he was **** over royally by red tape.
AVFCforever1991
Germany seems to suit him.. Very good natural finisher though, his movement off the ball is impressive as well.
The_Rev
Aye. Maybe the fact that Gelsenkirchen is only an hours drive from his home town in the Netherlands is a factor too. He can live at home and commute to Schalke very easily.
villa4europe
surprisingly the sturridge deal is meant to be stalling because of wage demands and him wanting a % sell on he pretty much sums up everything i hate about football, decent player, hugely inflated by the press because he's english, more interested in the £ than playing i hope he **** rots at liverpool and then gets used as an example for youngsters coming through about how not to be such a dick
Zatman
he pretty much sums up everything i hate about football, decent player, hugely inflated by the press because he's english, more interested in the £ than playing not a fan of it too but dont blame sturridge, any footballer will do the same and only way this will stop is if clubs stop paying the high salaries. which they wont
villa4europe
i think sturridge takes the biscuit for the fact that he then moans about not playing, he could have joined 90% of the prem when he left city and been a star at most of them but went for chelsea's big wage instead
LondonLax
He could have just stayed at City as well.
Dr_Pangloss
Sturridge is a prick that is only in it for the money. As a result of his move to Chelsea he has stagnated as a footballer. At his age and with his talent, first team football should be the priority. It's not like he'd be badly paid at a 'lesser' club anyway.
