coda
I think it'll be Chelsea when Abramovich finally loses patience with Torres. http://www1.skysport...opean-champions Atletico Madrid ace Falcao has fuelled speculation linking him with a Chelsea move by voicing his admiration for the European champions. Rumours that the 26-year-old Colombia international could move to Stamford Bridge in January have intensified in recent weeks, while Blues striker Fernando Torres has been linked with a return to his former club Atletico as part of the deal. Manchester City and Real Madrid are also thought to be interested in Falcao, who has scored 10 Primera Liga goals in as many games this season, but the striker has suggested he would be keen on a Blues move. He told the Daily Mail: "Chelsea are champions of Europe and there is not much more to say than that. "Even after winning the Champions League they still go and sign players of the highest quality. Their ambition is clear. "I was also a big fan of (former Chelsea forward) Gianfranco Zola when I was growing up." Falcao does not believe he would have trouble adjusting to the physical demands of the Premier League should he make the move to England. "I would not be worried about the physical aspect of the Premier League," he said. "I have scored goals in Argentina, Portugal and now Spain." Falcao added: "I am confident I can adapt my game to any league. I would welcome the challenge of the Premier League. "I have watched the Premier League for a long time. There is so much quality and it is such an exciting league. Of course it is nice to think I might play in it."
villa89
Falcao to Chelsea for Torres + a few million sounds like a deal that would make sense for all parties.
Zatman
not for Atletico financially, Torres probably on triple the wages Falcao is on
villa4europe
that also pretty much mean torres admitting he's been a huge flop which i cant see happening i wonder if daniel sturridge will finally get the hint and leave or will he still cuddle his cash at night and brand chelsea unfair
AVFCforever1991
Why would Atletico want Torres back? He didn't end on the best terms with the Board.
Zatman
because he is a legend with the fans and the board and fans arent really on best terms as divided boardroom. plus ive never heard anything about their relationship ending badly
BOF Posted November 16, 2012 Moderator Share Posted November 16, 2012 If anything it ended well. He knowingly signed a long contract just before the move, so that Atletico could demand a bigger transfer fee. He is Atletico born and bred.
Zatman
plus with his money they signed Diego Forlan who was a better striker for them overall
Dr_Pangloss
Yep Torres is an Atletico legend and said that he would never play for another Spanish team. They'd take him back with open arms.
AVFCforever1991
Be a step backwards for Atletico.
Zatman
anybody that isnt Falcao will be a step backwards for them
AVFCforever1991
anybody that isnt Falcao will be a step backwards for them True, But I mean in terms of Torres. Surely they would rather get 50m+ for Falcao and invest it? Instead of getting an ageing striker, that doesn't have too many years left.
Dr_Pangloss
Aging striker? He's 28 lmao.
AVFCforever1991
Aging striker? He's 28 lmao. Again true, 29 next year when he would be back at Atletico. He's not the oldest player around, but surely Atletico would be more wise to get the money from chelsea and Invest it in the Future?? Plus what kind of wages is Torres on? The_Rev
More than Atletico can afford. Of course the deal could still happen if Chelsea really want it to because all they need to do is to subsidise Torres wages at Atletico.
Troglodyte Posted November 17, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted November 17, 2012 Atlético have had some unbelievable strikers over the past decade or so. Hopefully then can keep it up and sign another gem!
Zatman
dont think he will reach the level of Aguero, Forlan or Falcao but Adrian is a very good forward as well. He was top scorer in under 21 euros in 2011 and if develops will probably be the regular Spain forward

Czechlad
11 premier league goals since signing for chelsea in 2010. That is pretty awful considering how much they paid for him and how much they are currently paying him. I don't understand why he is so awful at Chelski.
