That was a really good win, West Ham is a really good team and has signed some really good players. Winning 4-1 is a real statement, scored some super goals as well!

Fantastic result and performance. We always struggle against these, and they'll have come in quietly fancying themselves to turn us over by playing well on the transition, and we simply never let them by dominating the ball and creating a huge number of good chances - we honestly could have scored 7 or 8. Everyone, including the subs, putting in a top-notch performance, but gave the MOTM to Watkins not because Luiz wasn't brilliant (he was) but because Watkins ran them ragged with his movement and scored the 3rd at a rare moment of peril to put the game to bed.

That was an incredibly enjoyable game the way we worked the ball. Slight blip after the flukey WH goal but then turned on the style big time. 

Unai is a magician and the team were immense today! Feels like a bigger win than the Brighton game.

Been anxious about this game all week, really didn’t want to lose the home run but very aware of what a good side West Ham are the moment. 
 

Wondering if Unai will ever help me to unlearn the in built Villa knowledge that it’ll all end in tears. At the moment it’s starting to look quite irrational.

BTW - we've scored 4 more goals than Man City after a quarter of the season, 5 more goals than Arsenal.

Good win, good for goal difference. We played well too and really are in the hunt for the top 5 and CL places.

Side note, the commentary on the US stream was bizarre - so begrudging of giving any praise and desperate to dismiss our prospects for the season despite acknowledging that we've got the 2nd most points this year. Lee Dixon sounded bored and he and the commentator were happiest talking about a game that was played at Villa Park 24 years ago that we didn't even play in. Idiots.

Brilliant. We'd be second  with a win at Wolves.  That was a tough  away game though and I'm far from disappointed - quite the opposite.  People can carry on overlooking us in 5th for a little while longer.

Incidentally, there was a poster in the pre-match thread eagerly anticipating the midfield battle between Dougie and JWP - can someone enlighten me how that  went?
