Brighton are a very decent side: disciplined with their shape, passed the ball well, pressed well and were physical enough but just couldn't cope with Watkins' pace.

Things looked dicey for Villa once Brighton had scored and we desperately needed the fourth goal to kill them off.

Zaniolo had a difficult game and Digne's crossing wasn't up to much.

Cash's assist was the sort of thing he should concentrate on, instead of shooting all the time.

Ramsey's goal was a peach.

The rest just put jam on it for Villa.

Didn't think much of the referee but forgave him his mistakes when he didn't send-off Konsa.

Absolutely done number on Brighton today, its why he is the Don

Yep, Ollie and Diaby narrow with Dougie behind on a sort of 3/4 court press, blocking off the easy balls into the middle of the pitch and forcing Brighton defence to either go long or get drawn higher up the pitch. Then turn over possession and smash them on the counter. Ollie and Diaby made Dunk and Webster look like amateurs.

Our high line wasn't as high as usual, and defence and midfield were generally much closer together.

We won't be that clinical in front of goal very often, but overall i don't think anybody could watch that game and not think we deserved to win.

Without Mac Allister and Caceido  midthat central midfield just doesn't carry enough threat to unravel our highline like Liverpool did. Cash did a fantastic job on Mitoma and McGinn was back to his old self.

Probably one of Watkins' most complete performances ever for us.
