So who would people pick between Ugarte, Khephren Thuram, Lavia or Palhinha when factoring in age, transfer fee, salary and what not?

Probably pick Thuram but he might be the least realistic.

Thuram - wanted him at Villa for over 3 seasons now. Fantastic dribbler , taller than 3 Tommy elphicks , strong , quick , tactically flexible and good positioning. Passing tackling and all that standard jazz is very high quality.

Are we even linked to Thuram, Lavia, or Palhinha or are we just naming players that may or may not be available this summer?

Palhinha we've been linked to on a number of occasions in the last month. The others I don't think so.

True but also to consider everyone pretty much will have a max spend of circa 200-300m so if you have a owner worth £10bn quid who is willing to spend then its no different to the owner who has £100bn i.e a newcastle, its just gonna be a case of meeting that region to spend in which if reports are true we are part of.

The next process is all about recruitment and strategy, so essentially that is more important than the money, look as far as arsenal and there season compared to chelsea to prove this right and maybe even Leicester while were on the matter.

The reason I went to turn over as you need that to meet FFP, to be able to pay the wages those top players demand and to one day be able to still be competitive without a billionaire backer.

James Ward Prowse anyone?

Does he get in ahead of anyone we currently have?  Other than his set pieces, he offers little else and I am convinced we can do better.

Ugarte and Kamara would be a reasonable midfield combination

Would be such a solid base from which to move the other midfielders around them.   Luiz could also play further forward.

We need a new, quality, back-up 'keeper.

We need a right back to either start or challenge the starter.

We need another central creative midfielder.

We need at least one wide attacking forward. If only one, it needs to be from the right.

We need another centre forward who scores goals.

That's without Europe. With Europe, we another centre back, and another wide attacking forward.

No idea of thats true but it feels like the way it should be handled while he sits on both chairs.

Unless of course it's a deal that heavily favors Villa 😀

what a load of nonsense.

If barca have some players they actually want to sell (which they will due to their financial position), and Villa were interested, why on earth would we not want to, or Barca not want to, actually do the transfer.

Stupid headline that tbh.

A Saints fan was on Talksport when I was travelling back from the game. He was saying that Ward Prowse is poor at passing and is basically just a set piece specialist.
