Summer Transfer Window 2022

Another potential interesting replacement for Chukwuemeka could be Alex Scott from Bristol City, they're kind of different type of players in some ways, but Scott like Chukwuemeka can play midfielder or further forward, so they're both attackers of a sort, but Scott is more akin to Grealish in terms of style of play. I liked him ever since I saw him play for England U18s a few seasons back, wouldn't come cheap, we would probably have to pay a similar fee to get him that we got for Chukwuemeka, if not more.

Maddison is a strange one, last summer a lot of Leicester fans were happy for him to go to Arsenal, because for a couple of seasons he had been out of form, was living on past glories a little, but seems he had a good season last season and has suddenly become highly rated again. I don't think he will actually leave Leicester, as I don't think a team clearly superior to them will buy him, the whole Newcastle thing, probably just a ploy to get him a better contract.

How you all feeling about the netspend?

Once we get rid of El ghazi, Gulbert, Troare, Davis etc etc we would of received more than spent.

Well our net spend last summer was about 10m and no-one seemed to care, so frankly I'm  not bothered.

I’d love to make money every year but have a stronger squad

Well sure, that's my point really. What matters is the squad.

Yes that’s a very good replacement option

Without bothering with FFP in too much detail id rather we went for the big shop once we were a bit further up

The catch 22, we need a splurge to get us up the league but once we're up the league we can theoretically sign better players, drop the megabucks when we get to 7th... But we've got to get there first, even if we only finish 10th this season we should still be able to attract better players than we can from 14th

If we could get to where West Ham are I'd then want us to spend far more than what they do

I like the target of getting to where West Ham are, I would love to be there. I can't wait for European football

The problem is West Ham are miles ahead of us and have strengthened further

But we have NSWE and Purslow, they have Dildo sellers and ex pornstars on their board and a reality show ex Blue. Surely there is limited competition there

Net spend is a useless metric...   We strengthened heavily this summer in the key areas.  Adding more funds by selling dead weight/prima donna youth players makes our FFP balance look better for next summer when we swing for the fences on more Champions League quality players.

Agreed, this should be the first initial target,.leapfroggin for getting as close to that as possible.

I dunno, I don't think their squad is that much better than ours on paper, especially in terms of depth

What they've got is a manager who can get consistency and out of these 5/6 teams that are eying up 7th it won't necessarily be the best that gets it it will be the most consistent and we are still wildly inconsistent
