Jas10
Vasco's idea is to speed up the deal with Philippe Coutinho so that it can be announced in June. In the event of a final agreement, the player would arrive in Rio de Janeiro and begin activities after his vacation period.
Jas10
Coutinho has more advantageous proposals than Vasco. His businesspeople are even in favor of him continuing abroad. However, it is the player's desire to return to the club that revealed him. The 31-year-old midfielder has put the financial issue on the back burner and agreed to considerably reduce his current salary to defend Cruz-Maltino. Negotiations between the parties are moving towards a loan contract until the end of 2024 with a purchase option. However, the salary issue remains to be defined. Pedrinho is confident and already has a financial plan to finance the reinforcement.
KevinRichardsonsMoustache
Not another loan. Please. Nice that he's willing to 'reduce his demands' for a loan, when we'd be offsetting the difference anyway. He seems like an honourable person, just agree to rip up the contract and go back to Brazil.

Can't do that without taking a loss on FFP, though, because he has book value. This is probably the best way financially we can do a deal - i.e. getting his wages off the bill for a season.

This is probably the best way financially we can do a deal - i.e. getting his wages off the bill for a season. Yes we see his remaining two years as follows 4.25m amortisation and 7m wages. So we are mostly accepting of the amortisation there's nothing we can do there. It's about his wages can we shift them off the books for next two years. We can't release him and allow him to sign with Vasco or wherever as we immediately book an £8.5m loss on his remaining Amortisation. So we will look for him to agree a deal where he can go to Vasco but he takes a salary cut to match what Vasco will pay. Then next summer his contract gets terminated by mutual consent (or Vasco have obligation to buy at £1 and Coutinho joins them It's essentially a structure where we keep our Amortisation cost at 4.25m next season and the same the season after while removing his wages entirely.
